To prevent the dirt present in the fuel from depositing on the filter material so that the resistance to the flow through the filter material rises continuously overtime, a fuel system for a vehicle is provided in such a way that the throughflow resistance of the fuel filter remain almost constant. This is achieved as a result of the formation of a deposition tank in a housing of the fuel filter under the filter material located in a housing, in which the dirt from the fuel is deposited and as a result of a pressure accumulator in the fuel system causes the fuel stored in pressure accumulator to rinse the fuel filter after the engine has been switched off.

Fuel supply system for a motor vehicle

A system, method, and display device for displaying an expected range of driving distances for a vehicle having a driving unit and an energy storage unit. A sensor senses an amount of remaining energy in the energy storage unit. An average minimum energy consumption rate and an average maximum energy consumption rate of the driving unit are determined based on at least one of (a) vehicle-specific energy consumption parameters; and (b) driver-specific energy consumption parameters. A minimum expected driving distance is calculated based on the sensed amount of remaining energy and the average maximum energy consumption rate. A maximum expected driving distance is calculated based on the sensed amount of remaining energy and the average minimum energy consumption rate. The expected range of driving distances defined by the minimum expected driving distance and the maximum expected driving distance are displayed on a display unit.

A delivery unit has a level transmitter in which it is possible that angular deviations of the flange and/or of the bottom of the fuel tank from the desired position have no no effect on the measuring precision of the level transmitter arranged on the delivery unit. The connection between the flange and the pump holder is longitudinally movable and rotatable, and the lower end of the pump holder can be centered in a swivellable manner on a bottom of the fuel tank or of a baffle pot.

An internal-combustion engine is provided with an exhaust pipe and an exhaust gas catalyst which can be preheated by a burner. Fuel is fed to this burner from a fuel tank by way of a fuel pump. The pressure of approximately 3 bar existing in a first fuel pipe is increased by an output amplifier to approximately 10 bar. The output amplifier comprises a receiving housing and a guide housing, which is arranged therein as well as a differential piston unit comprising a large piston and a small piston. The differential piston unit has a passage bore, through which the fuel flowing into the pressure space of the receiving housing arrives in the high-pressure space of the guide housing. In the event of displacement of the differential piston, which is acted upon by the pressure medium, in one direction, the fuel present in the high-pressure chamber arrives at 10 bar in the second fuel pipe and from there in the burner.
