An image guided autonomous needle insertion device including a delivery system, a path planner, an image processor, and a human machine interface. The system also includes an ultrasound probe in communication with a frame grabber, a percutaneous insertion device, and at least a first actuator for moving the percutaneous insertion device within a first degree of freedom and a second actuator for moving the percutaneous insertion device within a second degree of freedom. Each actuator has a corresponding position sensor for detecting its location with respect to a target. The system can further comprise an image processor for removing noise and segmenting the ultrasound images to highlight potential targets.

Image guided autonomous needle insertion device for vascular access

Methods of creating frames captured with a video camera that are independent of light conditions are presented. In a first method the invention attains this goal by the addition of a modulated light source, for example amplitude modulation (AM), to the background light that illuminates the scene being captured and executing an algorithm that generates processed images in which the effects of the background illumination have been eliminated. In a second aspect the invention is a method of modifying the flash no flash technique by executing an algorithm that averages out the maximum and minimum intensity peaks in adjacent frames thereby allowing this technique to be employed using non-synchronous light in video.

Methods of producing video images that are independent of the background lighting

A robotic system for driving a vehicle to a destination is configured for placement inside the vehicle, and it utilizes an imaging system for acquiring image data of at least a part of the interior of the vehicle and image data of external surroundings of the vehicle, and a control system for processing the image data acquired by the imaging system. The control system is configured to identify in the image data of at least part of the interior of the vehicle image data of the vehicle state indicators, and determine therefrom at least vehicle status data. The control system is adapted to determine from the image data of external surroundings road status data, and analyze the vehicle status data and the road status data for generating control instructions for driving the vehicle along the road.

Universal autonomous robotic driving system

A method for automatic left ventricular (LV) inner border detection, the method comprising: performing image mapping on an echocardiogram, to produce a multi-level image map; converting the image map into a binary image, by attributing pixels of one or more darker levels of the image map to the LV cavity and pixels of one or more lighter levels of the image map to the myocardium; applying a radial filter to contours of the myocardium in the binary image, to extract an approximate inner border of the LV; and performing shape modeling on the approximate inner border, to determine the LV inner border.

Automatic left ventricular function evaluation

The present invention relates to a system and method for providing 3D imaging. The system comprises: a) two or more cameras for allowing to generate stereoscopic information only for selected regions in a common or coincident field of view captured simultaneously by both of said two cameras, in order to provide distance measurements information to object(s) located in said selected regions; b) at least one 3DLR module for providing 3D image, wherein said two cameras and said 3DLR module are positioned in such a way that, at least partially, they will be able to capture similar or coincident field of view information; and c) a processing unit for generating said 3D imaging according to said stereoscopic information and said 3D image by using image processing algorithm(s) in order to provide 3D imaging information in real-time.
