A speaker comprises an electroacoustic transducer diaphragm which is mounted between or suspended from multiple suspension pins or suspension components. The suspension pins or suspension components provide mechanical support and acoustic isolation to the diaphragm.

The invention provides a modular electronic device, in particular a portable device, more in particular a handheld device, said modular electronic device comprising a chassis comprising a frame holding a computational module comprising a circuit board holding a data processor, and a display module comprising a planar display device having a viewing side and a rear side, said display module comprising a back plate on the rear side of the display device, wherein said frame further comprises a frame attachment part and said back plate comprises a display attachment part for allowing said display module to be attached to said frame in a sliding manner in a sliding direction in-plane of said planar display device, and said frame comprising a frame lock part and said display module comprising a display lock part for in a mutually locked position locking said frame and said display module onto one another, blocking said sliding, and in a mutually released position allowing sliding of said display module and said frame with respect to one another for allowing removal of said display module from said frame.

The field of the invention relates to speaker devices, to speaker panels for speaker devices, to mechanical assemblies and mountings for speaker devices, to uses of speaker devices for example as products or as components for products, and to computer program products operable to control speaker devices. There is provided a speaker device, the speaker device including a body and a speaker panel assembly, the speaker panel assembly movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, wherein in the open configuration the speaker panel assembly is displaced relative to the body, and in the closed configuration the speaker panel assembly is retracted into the body. The speaker device may be a smart device. The speaker device may be one configured to receive and to store a mobile device.

A computing device is operable to work in conjunction with a companion electronic device. The computing device and the companion electronic device each have their own electronics and/or own operating system and each is able to construct a partial or complete user environment. The computing device is operable to send data to the companion device, on request of the companion device, which the companion electronic device then uses to locally construct its own user environment, in whole or in part.

An electronic device includes a display assembly, in which the display assembly is positioned within a strength member frame and pivots around a pair of hinges fixed into the strength member frame, the strength member frame isolating the display assembly from forces that would otherwise damage the display assembly. The display assembly may include a rectangular display element and the strength member frame is then a rigid rectangular frame that surrounds all four sides of the display assembly, all sides of the rigid rectangular frame being capable of isolating the display assembly from forces that would otherwise damage the display assembly. The invention hence enables a computing device display to be securely held, protected and manipulated. The display is protected from stress, torsional forces, impact forces and over-rotation.
