A bearing includes a contact region () filled with lubricant () between two otherwise rubbing surfaces (). One surface moves relative to a stationary other. The moving surface entrains the lubricant into the contact region to generate pressure within the lubricant enabling support of a load whilst the lubricant slips against the stationary surface.
