A photosensitive silver halide film material is disclosed comprising a support and on one or both sides thereof one or more layer(s) comprising a photosensitive silver halide emulsion wherein tabular silver halide crystals having an average thickness of less than 0.25 &mgr;m and an average aspect ratio of 2 or more are present characterized in that said photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer(s) comprise(s) blue colored polymeric matting particles.

A photographic silver halide material is disclosed which comprises a support and on one or both sides thereof at least one silver halide emulsion layer and a protective antistress layer of hydrophilic colloid and which comprises in an outermost layer on the side(s) containing at least one emulsion layer a polyoxyalkylene compound as an antistatic agent, characterized in that said antistress layer comprises at least one synthetic clay. In addition to the preservation of antistatic properties after processing of the said material an improvement in surface glare as appreciated upon examination of medical X-ray films is obtained. Moreover the occurrence after processing of water spot defects and sticking is avoided.

A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material and a method for preparing said material is provided, wherein said material comprises a support and on one or both sides thereof at least one silver halide emulsion layer and a protective antistress layer as an outermost layer, characterized in that said silver halide emulsion layer(s) and/or said protective antistress layer comprise(s) at least one zeolite loaded with a photographically useful group. Further a method of preparing said light-sensitive silver halide photographic material as described hereinbefore is provided, said method comprising the steps of precipitating silver halide crystals in a colloidally stable aqueous medium by mixing an aqueous silver salt solution and at least one halide solution thereby forming an emulsion; flocculating, followed by decanting, washing and redispersing said emulsion or washing said emulsion by dialysis or ultrafiltration followed by adding one or more colloidally stable solution(s); chemically ripening said silver halide crystals in said emulsion, adding thereto solutions comprising chemical ripening agents; adding coating solutions comprising coating additives, followed by coating and drying, wherein in at least one of said steps at least one zeolite is added to the said medium, solution or emulsion.

A silver halide photographic material is provided comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer and an outermost layer comprising an hydrophillic binder and polymeric spacing particles characterized in that (i) the outermost layer has a thickness between 0.3 to 0.9 pm and (ii) the polymeric spacing particles comprise at the surface alkali metal carboxylate or sulphonate groups equivalent to an acid value greater than 1.0 mg KOH per 1 g of polymeric spacing particles. In a preferred embodiment the said spacing particles have a volume average diameter (d.sub.v50) that is 5 to 30 times larger than the thickness of the outermost layer.
