In the production of cement clinker or cement with the addition of a cement additive ( ), such as for example slag, which is ground in a closed-circuit grinding installation into slag meal ( ) of equal fineness to cement, in order to utilize excess slag capacity in a beneficial way in the cement clinker production process, an intermediate slag fraction ( ) withdrawn from a three-fraction classifying device ( ) is added as a raw material component to the stock inlet of the rotary kiln ( ) of the cement clinker production line, and at the same time the chemical composition of the remaining raw material components ( ) is adapted to the added quantity ( ) of the intermediate slag fraction.

Method and installation for production of cement clinker

A dual-train or multi-train installation for the production of cement clinker from raw meal includes several cyclone suspension heat exchanger trains which provide substantially equal gas and meal loads of the following gas-solid suspensions through use of a vortex homogenization chamber ( ), having an inlet opening ( ) for the gas-solid suspension and having at least two outlets to a pair of pipes ( ) for the discharge of the thoroughly blended homogenized gas-solid suspension substreams. The vortex homogenization chamber ( ) is positioned in a calcination stage ( ), upstream of its branching and splitting between the several heat exchanger trains (A, B).

Multi-train installation for the production of cement clinker from raw meal

In order to provide a cement clinker production line with a calcinator connected to the rotary kiln and including a separate rotary drum-type reactor with the objective to safely burn even coarse secondary fuels in the drum-type reactor and also to evenly and effectively transfer the released heat energy to the cement raw meal, it is proposed in accordance with the invention to introduce into the rotary drum-type reactor on the inlet side for the solids a partial stream line of the tertiary air guided from the clinker cooler to the calcinator, a highly ignitable fuel, the low ignitable or low flammable secondary fuel and a partial stream line for the cement raw meal and to connect the exit side for the material on the rotary drum-type reactor via a line for carrying out the solid residues to the tertiary air channel and/or the rotary kiln exit gas channel of the calcinator and/or to the inlet chamber of the rotary kiln.

System for manufacturing cement clinker

To create a calcinator for a cement clinker production line which is connected to the rotary tubular kiln in series and which is equipped with double firings, in which it is possible expediently to dispose of lumpy combustibles such as unchipped used tires and/or other lumpy secondary combustibles by pyrolysis or potentially by combustion for the purpose of the high-grade calcination of the cement raw meal, without the pyrolysis process interfering with the calcination process, while simultaneously ensuring an exhaust gas having low NO emissions, it is inventively proposed to slide the lumpy fuel such as old tires onto a displacement mechanism such as a grate that is transversely disposed in an additional tertiary air channel in the area of the junction with the exhaust gas channel of the rotary kiln, the lumpy fuel being pyrolized or burned on this mechanism with the aid of a tertiary air substream whose volume can be regulated, and the residue of the pyrolysis or combustion being pushed from said displacement mechanism into the rotary kiln exhaust gas channel, into which channel the CO-laden pyrolysis gas, or respectively, smoke gas that is generated is also fed.

Method and apparatus for the thermal treatment of mealy raw materials

In order to create a surface armoring suitable for the autogenous wear protection with application of grid armoring technology that exhibits a long service life capability due to high wear-resistance and compressive strength and that can nonetheless be manufactured and repaired relatively simply and cost-beneficially overall, particularly for the grinding rollers of high-pressure roller mills for the pressure comminution of granular material, it is inventively proposed that depressions spaced from one another be formed in the outside surface of the roller jacket and that prefabricated, highly wear-resistant hard bodies be pressed into the depressions, namely onto an adhesive compound that fills out the space provided with cavities between the bottom of the depressions and the underside of the hard bodies that have been fitted in.

Method and apparatus for thermal treatment of mealy raw materials

A grate cooler of simple construction whose cooling grate is substantly protected against wear and which can be operated in simple fashion and with a high cooling efficiency. A plurality of rotatably supported tubular oscillating shafts, spaced apart from one another, are arranged transversely to the conveyance direction of cooling feed material above a stationary cooling grate. Upwardly extending shovel arms ( ), are attached to the shafts which move with a reciprocating oscillatory motion ( ) in the conveyance direction of cooling feed material. The shovel arms have a pushing surface on their forward side and a wedge surface on their rearward side and, in their oscillatory motion, moving the hot bed of cooling feed material successively from the beginning of grate-cooler to the discharge of the grate cooler.

In order to create a calcinator preceding the rotary tubular kiln and equipped with secondary firings in which inert fuels that are difficult to ignite or, respectively, difficult to burn (secondary fuels) can be beneficially disposed of by burning for the purpose of calcination of the cement raw meal and a complete burn-out of CO gas strands and other fuel constituents, as well as an exhaust gas with low No,, are nonetheless assured for cement clinker production lines, the tertiary air channel in the region of the calcination unit is fashioned as a combustion chamber that expands the channel cross-section and through which the suspension flows from bottom to top. Tertiary air having a torsion component as well as an easily ignitable fuel is centrally introduced at the lower end of the combustion chamber, whereby a high-temperature zone that extends centrally from bottom to top and has a hot core flame proceeds from this burning location. An inert fuel that is difficult to ignite or, respectively, difficult to burn (secondary fuel) is introduced into the high-temperature zone and is burned and, thus, is usefully disposed of for the purpose of calcining the raw meal.

A method for the thermal treatment of mineral raw materials containing calcium carbonate and similar carbonates, particularly for the production of calcined products such as burnt lime, cement, magnesite, dolomite or the like wherein the raw material carriers of the calcium or other carbonate constituents are supplied to the calcining unit with a particle size of from 1 mm to 25 mm. The calcareous constituents are preferably supplied to the calcining unit with a particle size from 1 mm to 4 mm. To achieve this condition, the raw material containing the calcareous constituents is preferably pre-crushed to a particle size below 200 mm and pre-homogenized. It is then supplied to a drying comminution system connected to the calcining unit at the gas side and is suspended therein in direct heat exchange relationship with the gases. The material is preferably processed by means of single-stage crushing and grading to form the appropriate particle size. The upper limit of the grain size is determined by the amount of free lime content or of the ignition loss of the calcined product to the extent that the limit is lowered with a high free lime content or a high ignition loss.

Method for the thermal treatment of calcareous mineral raw materials

A method and apparatus for the thermal treatment of mineral raw materials for the manufacture of cement clinker wherein the raw materials are separately preheated and at least partially calcined in separate first and second preheating systems. One of the systems is charged with a mixture of raw materials and fuel, usually a low-grade fuel, to produce calcined meal and exhaust gases. The exhaust gases are passed from the first preheating system into the second preheating system to aid in preheating and calcining the raw materials therein. The calcined meals from both the first and second preheating systems are jointly introduced into a burning system to form cement clinker which is then cooled in the usual way. Additionally, exhaust gases from the burning system and from the cooler can be passed into the second preheating system for preheating and calcining the raw materials.

Method for the thermal treatment of mineral raw materials

The present invention deals with a chute for a kiln intake housing of a rotary tubular kiln or the like, the chute having a lining composed of a refractory material and a double-walled, inwardly facing collar disposed at the lower end thereof, the collar functioning to support the lower end of the refractory lining within its metal jacket and the collar being equipped with a special coolant circulating device. The inner end of the collar is composed of support segments which are connected to each other and to a holding means, the interior space of the collar being subdivided as required in order to provide for an induced circulation of a coolant.

A cyclone heat exchanger particularly adapted for direct heat exchange between a granular product and hot exhaust gases from a kiln used in the production of cement, the heat exchanger comprising a housing, a gas feed pipe introducing hot gases tangentially of the housing, a cover extending across the top of the housing, a discharge at the base of the housing for discharging product therefrom. The improvement consists of an immersion pipe extending through the cover and into the housing, the immersion pipe consisting of a plurality of segments extending in the longitudinal direction of the immersion pipe. Holding devices are provided for releasably holding segments in the cover.

A method and apparatus for burning fine grained products, such as raw cement meal, wherein the product is preheated in a preheating stage, calcined in a calcining stage, and is burned into clinker in a clinker stage followed by cooling in a cooling stage. The heating of the largely calcined product in the temperature range of about 900.degree. C. to the beginning of alite formation which occurs at approximately 1250.degree. C. is carried out under the fastest possible temperature rise conditions and the clinker reaction is carried out in concurrent flow with the gas stream in the burning stage. The clinker is then graded into a coarse grained fraction and a fine grained fraction which are then cooled in separate coolers after separation from the gas stream.
