An illumination device includes a number of radiation reflectors that are each irradiated by at least one light source. The radiation reflectors are shaped in such a way that they can be combined modularly to form a radiation-reflecting luminous area.

A lighting arrangement comprises an optical apparatus () with a radiation outlet surface () and an optoelectronic component () for producing radiation, with an element () which is formed like a reflector being formed. The shape and arrangement of the element are suitable for deflecting radiation generated in the component through the radiation outlet surface, and the element is designed to specifically absorb this radiation. The lighting arrangement is preferably intended for particularly homogeneous back-lighting of display apparatuses such as liquid crystal displays (LCDs).

Lighting assembly

A semiconductor light source is provided, the semiconductor light source having a primary radiation source () which, when the semiconductor light source is operated, emits electromagnetic primary radiation () in a first wavelength range, and having a luminescence conversion module () into which primary radiation () emitted by the primary radiation source () is fed. The luminescence conversion module () contains a luminescence conversion element () which, by means of a luminescent material, absorbs primary radiation () from the first wavelength range and emits electromagnetic secondary radiation () in a second wavelength range. The luminescence conversion element () is arranged on a heat sink () at a distance from the primary radiation source (). It has a reflector surface () which reflects back into the luminescence conversion element () primary radiation () which passes through the luminescence conversion element () and is not absorbed thereby and/or reflects secondary radiation () in the direction of a light coupling-out surface () of the luminescence conversion element ().

One embodiment of the invention proposes a light-emitting device comprising a radiation source for the emission of a radiation having at least a first wavelength, and an elongated, curved light-guiding body, into which the radiation emitted by the radiation source is coupled and which couples out light at an angle with respect to its longitudinal axis on account of the coupled-in radiation having the first wavelength.

Light-emitting device

A light-emitting device, comprising: a radiation source (), which emits radiation having a first wavelength, an optical waveguide (), into which the radiation emitted by the radiation source is coupled, and a converter material (), which converts the radiation transported through the optical waveguide () into light () having a second, longer wavelength. A light-emitting device of this type can have an improved light conversion efficiency.

An illumination device is specified which has a light source () suitable for coupling divergent electromagnetic radiation () into an optical waveguide (), the electromagnetic radiation () being guided in the optical waveguide () on the basis of total reflection the optical waveguide () being suitable for changing a main radiating direction () of the electromagnetic radiation (), and the optical waveguide () being formed in one piece. Light-emitting diodes are preferably used as the light source (). The illumination device is particularly well suited to the backlighting of displays.

A lighting apparatus comprising a plurality of light modules is specified, wherein each light module includes a plurality of groups of light sources mounted on a circuit board of said light module, and said light modules are arranged in rows on a carrier of said lighting apparatus. A display device comprising such a lighting apparatus is also specified.

Disclosed is an illumination device comprising a radiation-emitting front side and a multiplicity of light sources (R, G, B), wherein said multiplicity of light sources (R, G, B) is divided into light source groups (LG) and the light source groups (LG) are arranged on the grid points of a first regular grid.

This invention relates to uniform backlighting of surfaces by semiconductor light sources. Various semiconductor light sources are combined into identical illumination groups. These identical illumination groups are arranged so that uniform backlighting of a surface is made possible. For homogeneous color mixing to be achieved, especially at edges, each illumination group in the arrangement has at least one adjacent illumination group in a different orientation.

A method for producing a luminescence diode chip, in which provision is made of a semiconductor body is provided having an epitaxially grown semiconductor layer sequence having an active zone and a radiation coupling-out area, the active zone emitting an electromagnetic radiation during operation of the luminescence diode, a large part of said electromagnetic radiation being coupled out via the radiation coupling-out area. A luminescence conversion material is arranged downstream of the radiation coupling-out area in an emission direction of the semiconductor body. A radiation-transmissive covering body having a first main area, a second main area opposite to the first main area, and also side areas connecting the first and second main areas. The covering body is applied to the radiation coupling-out area of the semiconductor layer sequence in such a way that the first main area faces the radiation coupling-out area. The application of the covering body is preceded by the application of a first conversion layer, having a luminescence conversion material, to the first main area of the covering body.

Method for producing a luminescence diode chip

In a method of assembling a surface illumination system having an electromagnetic radiation emitting front side, at least one primary radiation source suitable for emitting electromagnetic radiation when operating is disposed on at least one mounting area of a flexible carrier. The flexible carrier has a front side and a back side opposite said front side, the front side of the flexible carrier defines a reference plane. The mounting area of the flexible carrier on which the primary radiation source is disposed is then bent out of the reference plane such that an optical axis of the primary radiation source extends parallel or obliquely to the reference plane. In a further step, at least one light-conducting guide having a radiation emitting front side and at least one incoupling region is disposed on the flexible printed circuit board so that in operation, the primary radiation source emits radiation into the incoupling region of the light guide and the radiation emitting front side of the light guide points in the direction of the radiation emitting front side of the surface illumination system. A corresponding surface illumination system is also described.
