A device and method are provided for bobbin evacuation on a movable conveyor belt. The invention particularly concerns a process for automatic evacuation of wound-up bobbins in a spinning, winding or twisting machine equipped with work stations on both sides, on a movable conveyor belt which is installed in the longitudinal center of the machine, whereby the bobbins can be replaced randomly. A device is described to carry out the process. It is a characteristic of the invention that the conveyor belt moves at a continuous speed and in that the state of occupancy of the conveyor belt is stored in a computer, whereby the automatic travelling carriage at the spinning station finds the location which is free at the moment through the computer during bobbin replacement and whereby the automatic travelling carriage deposits the bobbin on the continuously moving conveyor belt when the signal is given that the location is free. The computer, which is equipped with a ring counter with parallel input and output, is a part of the machine center of the spinning section. The drive shaft or the deflection roller of the conveyor belt is connected to a pulse generator which supplies the pulses to the computer.

Bobbin evacuation on a movable conveyor belt

A device and process for piecing yarn on an open-end spinning device where a yarn is fed back either from the winding bobbin on which it had been wound previously, during the spinning process, or from a special piecing bobbin via a common back-feeding path to the spinning device. The piecing yarn, drawn off from the piecing bobbin, as well as the yarn drawn off from the winding bobbin is first subjected to the effect of a controllable draw-off action at the beginning of this common back-feeding path upon completion of the piecing process. The yarn, which continues to be delivered by the spinning device, is subjected to the effect of normal spinning draw-off only upon reaching the full draw-off speed and is transferred to an empty tube located in the winding device, whereby the excess yarn segment with the piecing joint is severed and removed when replacing the winding bobbin. A feeding device with a pair of auxiliary rollers is provided to feed the piecing yarn to a back-feeding device, whereby a roller of the pair of auxiliary rollers can be assigned to the bobbin lifted off from the winding roller as a drive roller and can be driven by means of a controllable drive.

Process and device for piecing yarn to an open-end spinning device

Method and apparatus includes determining the actual outer diameter of a bobbin or empty casing in the axial region thereof upon which a thread is being taken up. The drive velocity of the bobbin or empty casing is then changed relative to operating velocity as a function of the determined actual outer diameter of the bobbin or empty casing. Such adjustment corrects the circumferential velocity of the bobbin or empty casing in the take-up region of the thread for correspondence with the thread supply velocity. Otherwise, the circumferential velocity in such take-up region would deviate from the thread supply velocity on account of the conicity of the bobbin or empty casing.
