A cutter head for excavating hard rock materials in rock face includes a carrier attachable to a cutter arm of a cutter machine and a drive shaft rotatably supported by the carrier. The drive shaft is rotatable about a drive axis and has at one end a support portion for mounting disc cutters. A plurality of disc cutters are mounted on the support portion and configured to perform undercutting against the rock face. Each disc cutter is rotatable about a respective support axis, the respective rotational axis of each disc cutter being configured to be substantially transverse to the rotational axis of the cutter head. A mining machine including the cutter head is also disclosed.

Cutting apparatus

A roller cutter unit is mountable at a cutting head of undercutting mining machines. The cutter unit includes an elongate mount shaft to position and support a cutter ring. The cutter ring is secured to the mount shaft via a bracket having a wedge segment configured to be wedged axially and radially between the cutter ring and the shaft. Accordingly, a mounting mechanism is provided to achieve a desired force transmission pathway from the cutter ring into the shaft so as to maximize the locking action of the cutter ring at the cutter unit.

Roller cutter unit for undercutting machine

A cutting apparatus suitable for creating tunnels and subterranean roadways includes independently pivoting supports that each carry a respective, independently pivoting arm and a rotatable cutting head. Each cutting head, via the supports and arms, is configured to slew laterally outward in a sideways direction and to pivot in a vertical upward and downward direction. The supports and arms are mounted on a linear moving sled carried by a main frame.

Cutting apparatus and method of operating

In a device for producing a gas-liquid mixture and, in particular, air-water mixture in the region of cutting tools, particularly chisels, arranged on at least one cutter head () rotationally mounted on a cutter arm () of a cutting machine (), including at least one nozzle pair comprised of a nozzle () for ejecting a gas jet and a nozzle () for ejecting a liquid jet, wherein the axes () of the nozzles () of a nozzle pair are oriented in a manner that the jets impinge on each other at a distance from the outlet openings of the nozzles, the axes () of the nozzles () of a nozzle pair form an angle with each other of between 45 and 135&#xb0;, preferably between 75 and 85&#xb0;.
