An improved process for the wet oxidation of malodorous gases obtained from sewage sludge drying operations is provided. Organic-enriched water having an oxygen demand of at least 5 mg per liter is utilized for the process.

Process for the destruction of noxious gases with ozone

An improved process for the ozonization of .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated cyclohexanones, most notably isophorone and piperatone, to produce 5-ketoalkanoic acids is provided. For the process, the .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated cyclohexanone is ozonized in an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid participating solvent which may optionally contain water and a soluble manganous salt.

Copolyamides derived from a mixture of short-chain and long-chain saturated aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, piperazine and a polyoxyalkylene diamine are excellent hot melt adhesives useful with a variety of substrates. These thermoplastic copolyamide resins are particularly useful adhesives for vinyl materials and are resistant to creep.

These thermoplastic resin compositions are excellent reinforcing adhesives for flexible substrates and are particularly useful as box-toe construction resins.

This invention relates to reactive liquid polyamides derived from poly-basic acids and amine residues obtained as by-products from the process for the hydrogenation of adiponitrile to hexamethylenediamine. By use of these amine residues it is possible to obtain liquid polyamide products having low amine values and manageable viscosities. The liquid reactive polyamides are useful for a variety of applications, for example, they can be blended with thermoplastic polyamide resins to impart desirable properties thereto.
