A computer-implemented method for determining implant positions of two implant components relative to two bones that form a joint is disclosed. The method includes acquiring a set of target poses to be achieved between the two bones, assessing one or more proposed implant arrangements using the set of target poses, and selecting an implant arrangement from the proposed implant arrangements based on the assessment. Assessing an implant arrangement includes determining a real pose between the two bones for each target pose, calculating a pose deviation value for each target pose based on the target pose and the corresponding real pose, and calculating an overall pose deviation value from the individual pose deviation values. The implant arrangement may be selected based on the overall pose deviation values for the proposed implant arrangements.

Method and apparatus for determining implant positions of two medical implant components forming a joint

An image-based approach of calibrating an ultrasound-probe is described, wherein at least two ultrasound-images which cross each other are acquired with a tracked ultrasound probe, and wherein the intersection areas of these images, which have been calculated on the basis of the tracked spatial position of the ultrasound probe are checked for similar image content. The grade of similarity gives an indication as to how well the ultrasound probe is calibrated.

A device and method for detecting an impingement of joint components of a joint includes detecting a spatial position of each joint component during a relative movement of the joint components; calculating an instantaneous center point of rotation or an instantaneous axis of rotation from the detected spatial positions of the joint components; when one joint component moves relative to the other joint component, establishing whether the calculated instantaneous center point of rotation moves within a first expectation range or whether the calculated instantaneous axis of rotation moves within a second expectation range; and establishing that there is an impingement of the joint components when at least one of the calculated instantaneous center point of rotation or the calculated instantaneous axis of rotation leaves or exits the respective expectation range.

Method and device for detecting and localising an impingement of joint components

A bone incision block includes an incision guide, a localization reference adjustably attached to the incision guide, a fastener for fastening to a bone, and an adjustment device. The incision guide defines an incision plane, and the localization reference enables the incision plane to be spatially determined. The adjustment device is operatively coupled between the fastener and the incision guide, wherein the incision plane can be set relative to the bone via the adjustment device, and a spatial position of the adjustment device can be determined via a registration element.
