The invention relates to a rotary tube mill and to a method of comminuting lumpy mill feed material, in which at least a first and a second grinding chamber as well as a co-rotating partition disposed between the grinding chambers are used. The material ground in the first grinding chamber is divided in the partition into first and second part-quantities of mill feed material, whereby at least a part of the second part-quantity of mill feed material proceeds into the second grinding chamber and at least the first part-quantity of the mill feed material is discharged separately from the tube mill.

The invention relates to a separator comprising a separator housing with an inlet spiral for separating air which opens tangentially into an annular separating chamber and is divided into a plurality of delivery channels which lie one above the other, as well as a basket-shaped separator rotor disposed centrally and with a vertical axis in the separator housing and a guide vane ring which surrounds the latter with a radial clearance. In order that this separator on the one hand has a high effectiveness of separation between oversize material and fine material and on the other hand facilitates a sufficiently broad grain size distribution of the fine material, the overall shape of the separator rotor is that of a cone which tapers downwards.

The invention relates to a grinding plant and to a method of grinding and classifying brittle material for grinding, in which two classifiers are used. The finer fraction from the first classifier is delivered to a second classifier which separates it into coarse material and fine material. The coarse material passes into a fine grinding mill and from there is conveyed back to the second classifier by way of a mechanically transporting conveyor arrangement.

The invention relates to a sifter in which the spiral for delivery of the air for sifting is divided into a plurality of channels lying one above another in which elements for setting the quantity of sifting air delivered to the individual channels are provided. In such a sifter the quantity of sifting air in the individual regions of the sifting chamber can be optimally adapted to the requirements, which leads to a substantial improvement in the degree of separation.

This invention relates to a separator with a vertical axis, with a fan for producing the separating air stream coaxially disposed on a hollow shaft in the separator housing, a scatter plate rotating in the separator chamber, a counter-impeller system also rotating in the separator chamber, together with a drive mechanism mounted on the separator housing cover and comprising a drive motor, first gearing coupled with the hollow fan-shaft, and second adjustable gearing which drives the scatter plate and the counter-impeller system through a core shaft coaxially disposed in the hollow fan-shaft.
