A base station may establish a cellular link with a user equipment (UE) according to a single frequency network scheme. The base station may then determine one or more control resource set (CORESET) transmission configuration indication (TCI) states and transmit signaling to configure the UE with the one or more CORESET TCI states. Additionally or alternatively, the one or more CORESET TCI states may be useable by the UE in performing communications with at least one of a first transmission reception point (TRP) and a second TRP associated with the cellular link with the cellular network.

Configuration and default beam techniques at high movement speeds

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing techniques for a use equipment (UE) to determine, based on a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, a sensing beam to wirelessly communicate with a base station over a channel in an unlicensed spectrum. The UE can receive, using a receiving beam, control information including a TCI state, determine a sensing beam indicated by the TCI state included in the control information, sense a channel occupancy of the channel between the UE and the base station by performing Clear Channel Assessment using the sensing beam. Furthermore, the UE can determine, based on the channel occupancy, whether the channel is free to be utilized for communication by the UE using the sensing beam.

A cellular base station (BS) which determines an aperiodic sounding reference signal (SRS) triggering offset configuration specifying an offset between an aperiodic SRS trigger received by a user equipment (UE) and transmission of the SRS by the UE. The cellular base station may determine that the SRS triggering offset should be adjusted. In response, the cellular base station may transmit signaling to the UE specifying a new value for the aperiodic SRS triggering offset. The new SRS triggering offset value may be partly based on a minimum timing offset for the UE and may be contained in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) or in downlink control information (DCI). Additionally, the new triggering offset value may be applicable for a plurality of component carriers or bandwidth parts. The cellular base station may also determine a new triggering offset value due to conflicts regarding the AP-SRS transmission.

Enabling multiple cells to schedule a special cell

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing a beam pairing procedure between a transmission UE and a receiver UE. The transmission UE and the receiver UE can configure a set of beam patterns to be used in the beam pairing procedure. The set of beam patterns can include one or more transmission beams of the UE, and one or more receiving beams of the receiver UE. The transmission UE can transmit one or more sidelink reference signals to the receiver UE, and the receiver UE can perform signal strength measurements of the one or more sidelink reference signals. Based on the signal strength measurements, either the transmission UE or the receiver UE can make the selection of the transmission beam and the corresponding receiving beam for the beam pairing procedure.

One example aspect is a user equipment (UE), comprising: a memory interface; and processing circuitry communicatively coupled to the memory interface and configured to: receive a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) message that includes an activation command indicating a target transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state; decode the activation command within a decoding period, where the decoding period is a time period allocated for the UE to decode the activation command; receive a TCI resource where the TCI resource is a reference signal; perform time and frequency tracking associated with the target TCI state according the TCI resource; and switch to the target TCI state after performing time and frequency tracking.

Systems and methods for associating phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) and demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports for multi-beam physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions are described herein. A base station may provide, to a user equipment (UE), PTRS and DMRS port associations for the multiple beams on which the PUSCH is transmitted. In some cases, a 2-bit downlink control information (DCI) field may be used to alternatively provide single beam or multiple beam PTRS and DMRS port associations to a UE. For non-codebook (NCB) based transmissions, the UE may alternatively determine PTRS and DMRS port associations for multiple beams independently of any PTRS and DMRS port association indicated in DCI.

This disclosure relates to techniques for aligning wireless device and cellular network expectations and behavior in conjunction with neighbor cell measurements in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may determine that a reference signal is configured for a neighbor cell measurement when communication with the serving cell is also configured. The wireless device may determine whether the reference signal for the neighbor cell measurement is configured with same or different subcarrier spacing as the communication with the serving cell. The wireless device may select one or more of the reference signal for the neighbor cell measurement or the communication with the serving cell to receive based at least in part on whether the reference signal for the neighbor cell measurement is configured with same or different subcarrier spacing as the communication with the serving cell.
