There are disclosed an electrically tunable metasurface and a method for modulating propagation characteristics of an incident plane wave. The electrically tunable metasurface comprising: i) a plurality of scatterer rings, each one of the plurality of scatterer rings including bow-tie radiator elements, the bow-tie radiator elements in a corresponding scatterer ring having a same geometric configuration; and ii) a plurality of electrodes, each electrode being configured to provide a biasing voltage to the corresponding scatterer ring. The method comprising: i) receiving, by an electrically tunable metasurface, the incident plane wave; and ii) modulating the propagation characteristics of the incident plane wave by providing specific biasing voltage to the corresponding scatterer rings.

Electrically tunable metasurface

The disclosed systems, structures, and methods are directed to antennas for integration with a display structure which has a plurality of pixels arranged in pixel rows with an inter-pixel spacing, and a feeding line located in the inter-pixel spacing. The display structure also has an antenna which comprises a slotted waveguide and a substrate. The slotted waveguide is located in the inter-pixel spacing and defines a plurality of slots configured to radiate electromagnetic waves. The substrate is attached to the slotted waveguide and is located between the feeding line and the slotted waveguide. The antenna may also include a plurality of slotted waveguides superposing on different feeding lines of the display structure.

Various graphene-based photodetectors are disclosed. An example photodetector device may include: a substrate; a first antenna component fabricated on the substrate, the first antenna component comprising one or more antenna electrodes; a second antenna component fabricated on the substrate, the second antenna component comprising one or more antenna electrodes; a source region coupled to the first antenna component and the substrate; and a drain region coupled to the second antenna component and the substrate; wherein the one or more antenna electrodes in the first antenna component and the second antenna component are made of graphene.

An antenna device includes a radiator that functions both as a first antenna and as a second antenna, a ground terminal directly connected to the radiator between a first end and a second end of the radiator, a first feed terminal for the first antenna, directly connected to the radiator at a first feed point between the first end of the radiator and the ground terminal; and a second feed terminal for the second antenna, directly connected to the radiator at a second feed point between the second end of the radiator and the ground terminal.

The folded inverted F radiator comprises a first L-shaped element comprising an arm portion and a rectangular portion, a feed element coupled to a feed source and to the L-shaped element and a shorting element coupled to ground. In some embodiments, the antenna further comprises a second L-shaped arm providing an additional current path to enhance performance of the antenna. In other embodiments, the antenna further comprises a capacitive coupling patch comprising a rectangular portion that is substantially coplanar with said rectangular portion of the L-shaped element.
