A detection system and a portable detection device for detecting an object of interest in a lateral flow immunoassay strip. The lateral flow immunoassay strip has a detection carrier and a reporter, the detection carrier has a control zone and a test zone. The detection system has a laser light source, a scanning and spatial modulation module, a signal acquisition assembly, and a processing device. The laser light source provides a laser light. The scanning and spatial modulation module receives the laser light, and then provides a scanning and spatially modulating laser beam for irradiating a lateral flow immunoassay strip to generate a detecting signal. The signal acquisition assembly receives the detecting signal. The processing device electronically connects to the signal acquisition assembly and receives the detecting signal from the signal acquisition assembly.

Detection system and a portable detection device

The present disclosure discloses a detection method and a detection system for detecting an object of interest in a biological sample. The detection method comprises the following steps: providing a detection kit comprising a detection carrier and a reporter, wherein the detection carrier comprises a coating protein having a recognition site for binding the object of interest, the reporter including a spin luminescent material; mixing the reporter and the biological sample and loading the mixture onto the detection carrier; placing the detection carrier with the mixture of the reporter molecule and the biological sample in a time-varied physical field; irradiating a detection carrier placed in the time-varied physical field with an excitation light to excite the spin luminescent material to generate a fluorescence signal modulated by the time-varied physical field; and receiving and analyzing the fluorescence signal.

Detection method and system for detecting biological samples

This invention is a functionalized diamond crystal with high dispersibility in high ionic strength solution and/or with specific targeting ability, which comprise a diamond crystal and a fatty acid layer. The fatty acid layer works a surfactant and provides a specific targeting feature for the diamond crystal. The feature of the surfactant makes the diamond crystal being easily dispersed in biological surrounding (e.g., phosphate saline buffer) and the feature of specific targeting ability provides the diamond crystal with specific recognizing specific targets. This invention allows researchers to use diamond crystal as a marker for specific labelling.

Encapsulated functionalized diamond crystal

The present disclosure provides a fluorescent nitrogen-vacancy diamond (FNVD) having a plurality of nitrogen-vacancy centers with a concentration about 1 ppm to 10,000 ppm. The FNVD as built-in fluorophores exhibit a nearly constant emission profile over 540 nm to 850 nm upon excitation by vacuum ultraviolet (VUV), extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and X-rays for the energy larger than 6.2 eV. Applying the FNVD sensor can measure VUV/EUV/X-rays as a sensing sheet, manufacturing method and uses thereof, sensor and lithography apparatus. The superb photostability and broad applicability of FNVDs offer a promising solution for the long-standing problem of lacking robust and reliable detectors for VUV, EUV, and X-rays.

Fluorescent nitrogen-vacancy diamond sensing sheet, manufacturing method and uses thereof, sensor, and lithography apparatus

A method for preparing luminescent diamond particles (e.g., fluorescent nanodiamonds). The method includes irradiating diamond particles with an ion beam and heating the irradiated diamond particles in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature between 600 and 1000&#xb0; C. The diamond particles have a diameter of 1 nm to 1 mm and the ion beam has a kinetic energy of 1 KeV to 900 MeV. Also disclosed are luminescent diamond particles prepared by this method and methods of using them.

Luminescent diamond particles

A method for producing gas phase molecules includes providing a sample of molecules, the sample being characterized by a charge distribution, and directing acoustic radiation at the sample of molecules to desorb at least some of the molecules from the sample such that the desorbed molecules have a charge distribution that is substantially the same as the charge distribution of the sample of molecules.

Acoustic desorption mass spectrometry

A method for profiling proteins in a biological sample by mixing the sample and a diamond-based composition. The diamond-based composition includes a diamond crystallite having a surface that contains chemically derivatized surface groups and a polymer having a plurality of functional groups non-covalently bound to the surface groups. Proteins in the sample are mixed with and allowed to bind to the diamond-based composition. The bound proteins are then profiled.

Clinical applications of crystalline diamond particles

A method for identifying a biological organism that includes providing a biological sample corresponding to the biological organism, ionizing the biological sample to produce an ionized sample of the biological sample, performing a mass spectrometry analysis of the ionized sample, and identifying the biological organism in accordance with the mass spectrometry analysis.

Biological whole cell mass spectrometer

A nanoparticle ion detector includes an ion trap that receives charged particles ejected from a mass selection device. A laser beam illuminates the particles to induce fluorescence, which is detected by the photon detector. Particles are periodically dumped from the ion trap. A mass spectrum of the charged particles can be obtained by comparing signals from the photon detector with the particle ejection characteristics of the mass selection device.

Nanoparticle ion detection

A mass spectrometer that includes an ion source, an ion trap, and a light detection module. The ion trap has two end-cap electrodes and a ring electrode. The ring electrode is positioned relative to the end-cap electrodes to confine a charged particle from the ion source within a confinement region when an audio frequency voltage having a first amplitude is applied between the ring electrode and the two end-cap electrodes. The charged particle is ejected from the ion trap when the audio frequency voltage increases to a second amplitude. The light detection module includes a light source that illuminates the ejected particle and a light detector that detects light scattered from the ejected particle.
