An adapter for connecting an LED light fixture to the threaded, screw-in socket of an Edison lamp holder. The adapter includes lever arms that toggle between a horizontal position and an inclined position. The inclined position of the lever arms poses a small outside diameter so the adapter can be inserted into the Edison socket without catching any of the socket threads. When fully seated inside the Edison socket, the lever arms are pushed into the horizontal position. A central core translating within the shell when pushed to the top position inside the shell locks the lever arms in the horizontal position. The lever arms when locked in the horizontal position define an outsider diameter larger than the internal diameter of the Edison socket to wedge the adapter therein.

Electrical adapter with integral lever arms

A luminaire includes a housing having a back wall and several side walls, a diffuser provided at a front of the housing, and a plurality of LED strips disposed on the back wall of the housing. The height of the housing is less than 3 inches, with internal dimensions such that X:Y=1:7 and Z is &#x3c;1.5 inch, wherein X is the minimum distance between one of the LED strips and the diffuser, Y is the maximum distance, along a plane parallel to the back wall, between a center of one of the LED strips to an edge of the back wall, and Z is the distance, along a plane parallel to the diffuser, between an edge of the back wall and a front edge of the side wall sharing the edge with the back wall. The LED strips are configured to have a Full Width Half Max beam angle &#x3b1;&#x3e;100&#xb0;, and emit &#x3c;50 lumens.

Low profile LED luminaire with low bright to dark ratio

A friction blade trim retention system is disclosed. The friction blade trim retention system uses friction blades that are biased radially outward to engage the interior wall of a can housing to hold a trim assembly of a recessed light fixture therein. The system includes vertical translating components that include spring biased detents to toggle between an upper position and a lower position. The detent lower position allows the installer to install the friction blade inside the can in a first step. The installer in the second step pushes the trim assembly upward into the can to engage the upper detent, thus completing installation.

A recessed housing assembly includes a pan, a can, a junction box, and hanger bars. The telescoping hanger bar includes mounting brackets each including an ear defining a plane, and each ear includes a nail holder, a bendable flange, and a bendable return. Each ear plane contains the nail holder adjacent to the bendable flange partially separated by a score line. The bendable flange and bendable return allow the hanger bar to be configured by the user for attachment to a T-bar grid, steel studs, furring strips, engineered joists, or standard wooden joists commonly found in building construction.

A telescoping hanger bar assembly for mounting a recessed ceiling light fixture, wherein the hanger bar assembly includes mounting brackets each including an ear defining a plane, and each ear includes a nail holder, a bendable flange, and a bendable return. Each ear plane contains the nail holder adjacent to the bendable flange partially separated by a score line. The bendable flange and bendable return allow the hanger bar to be configured by the user for attachment to a T-bar grid, steel studs, furring strips, engineered joists, or standard wooden joists commonly found in building construction.

A recessed LED light fixture without need for a bulky, finned, metal heat sink. The recessed LED light fixture includes a Metal Core Printed Circuit Board (MCPCB) holding an array of LEDs that are arrange at the center thereof, and mounted to the printed circuit board using patterns of electrical and greases used to conduct a current and radiate heat. A mounting bracket holds the entire assembly for the light fixture together while spacing the LED driver and printed circuit board apart for further cooling, and wherein the upper side of the printed circuit board is exposed to the ambient air inside the housing.

Recessed LED light fixture without secondary heat sink

An Edison lamp holder adapter for adapting an electrical quick connect for connection to the lamp holder. The adapter includes an external housing and a ball shaped internal housing translating within the external housing. The external housing has lateral conductors formed with a resilient upper detent and a resilient lower detent, wherein the ball shaped internal housing selectively snaps into one of the detents. When the ball shaped internal housing resides within the upper detent, the electrical conductors of the adapter contact the internal conductors of the lamp holder to complete the circuit.

Electrical adapter with integral connector

A panel light fixture kit for mounting to a planar surface of a dwelling. The kit includes a mounting plate for a flush mount to the planar surface. A frame mounts to and covers the mounting plate. The mounting plate includes alignment notches. The frame includes a tunnel cover that slides into the alignment notches to align the two parts during installation. The mounting plate further includes eyelet slots. The frame has attachment pins that slide into the eyelet slots to hold the frame to the mounting bracket. An LED light source inside the frame illuminates a light guide panel positioned at the bottom. In a T-bar drop ceiling application, the mounting plate is not needed. The frame includes bendable T-bar brackets that are bent to a hook shape that is fastened to the T-bar to affix the frame to the T-grid.

Hidden mounting system for luminaire

An LED light module assembly for a light fixture is disclosed. The LED light module assembly includes a light source having a printed circuit board containing an LED driver and LEDs. The printed circuit board is directly attached to a mounting plate that includes a thermally conductive and radiating material. An LED cover overlies the LEDs. Spring retainer clips hold a decorative trim ring in a spaced-apart relationship from the mounting plate, creating an air gap for cooling and keeping the trim ring cool. A light diffuser lens has hooked legs that twist lock to the mounting plate and diffuses the light from the LEDs.

A solid state, recessed light fixture for residential and commercial lighting applications. The fixture includes a truncated cone-shaped trim having a concave bottom surface and a convex top surface, wherein the trim has a sloped circumferential wall that leads to a flat, annular lip at its periphery. An LED array is mounted to the underside within the concave bottom surface and a LED driver is mounted to the top surface. A cover with an open bottom partially encloses the LED driver and a junction box with cable openings and knock out ports is stacked on top of the cover. The cover is a thermal insulator to contain heat from the LED driver inside while the trim acts as a thermal conductor and radiator for the LED driver. No 'can' housing is needed to enclose the fixture, and no finned, heat sink is needed to dissipate heat.
