Systems and methods for merging configurations on network devices based on structured models representing features to be configured are disclosed. By utilizing these structured models embodiments may generally allow configuration merges to be performed substantially on a per feature basis and also allow the merging to be performed in a manner that minimizes conflicts and implementation complexity while substantially improving the performance of those configuration merges.

Merging configurations of network devices

A centralized manager in a network deployment is configured to perform periodic automated rotation of secrets used in the network and customer devices in the deployment. The centralized manager is further configured with intelligence to automatically install the rotated secrets onto the deployed devices. The centralized controller can provide high frequency rotations to improve network security.

High frequency rotation of cryptographic data

Systems, methods and products for associating arbitrary configuration tags to configuration item for a service so that items grouped by the tags can be unconfigured or manipulated as a group with minimal touchpoints. In one embodiment, a method is provided for managing the configuration of per-tenant features in a server system. The method includes identifying a configuration feature of the server system to be configured for a specific tenant. A configuration command is received to configure the configuration feature for the specific tenant, wherein the configuration command includes a configuration tag associated with the specific tenant. The configuration command is stored in a configuration of the server system and is applied to the server system. Tag-based commands are provided which are operable to modify a subset of configuration features corresponding to a designated configuration tag.

Associating tags to configuration items for tag-based configuration management

A cluster data replication system includes a plurality of network elements and controllers. The controllers form a cluster that is able to elect one of the controllers as a master controller with the others being follower controllers. The elected controller updates, responsive to being elected the master controller, state information in a system database of the elected controller to indicate that the elected one of the controllers is the master controller. The master controller includes one or more objects that are enabled in reaction to the state information, and which coordinate replication of changes to the data, system database, and state information from the master to the follower controllers. Each follower controller includes one or more objects able to, in reaction to the state information, disable initiation of the replication of changes to the data, system database and state information by the one or more objects in each follower controller.

Cluster data replication

Techniques for implementing an improved command line interface (CLI) are provided. In certain embodiments, this improved CLI can provide a CLI command definition language that enables developers, users, and/or other entities to define CLI commands in a straightforward and flexible manner, create optimized parse graphs based on the CLI command definitions, and employ an efficient algorithm for traversing a parse graph at, e.g., CLI runtime in order to parse an input text string and match that string to a valid CLI command.

Techniques for implementing a command line interface

A cluster file replication system is provided. Each controller of the plurality of controllers is configured to access a filesystem having a plurality of files including a system database of a controller having state information of the plurality of controllers. Each controller is further configured to have one or more service agents. The one or more service agents of each controller is configured to respond to one of the plurality of controllers becoming a master controller of the cluster. The one or more service agents of each controller is configured to set up one or more objects that react to the state information and coordinate replication of changes to the files, system database and state information from the master controller to follower controllers in the cluster. The one or more objects on each of the follower controllers is supportive of the follower controllers receiving the changes but disabled from initiating the replication. A method for cluster file replication is also provided.

A method and system for processing commands on a network device. The method may include instantiating a command execution back end that includes a parser, an activity thread, and a command execution server thread; receiving a connection; instantiating a command execution front end including a controlling terminal; detecting the instantiation of the command execution front end; creating a connection thread including an input communication channel, an output communication channel, an error communication channel, and a thread local working directory; receiving signal socket information, arguments socket information, connection environment information, a user identifier, a group identifier; a name of the controlling terminal, and a connection type; receiving additional command execution information; receiving a command; sending the command from the command execution front end to the connection thread; parsing the command using the parser; executing the parsed command to obtain a result; and providing the result to the command execution front end.

System and method for command processing

A system for replicating a filesystem running on multiple nodes comprising an originator system and a replica system. The originator system includes a plurality of nodes. The replica system includes a plurality of nodes and a processor. The plurality of nodes of the replica system are paired with the plurality of nodes of the originator system. The processor is configured to receive an indicator of a node of the plurality of nodes of the replica system finishing replication for a view of a filesystem at a point in time. The processor is further configured to indicate that replication for the view of the filesystem is complete in the event that all replica system nodes have received their indication for the view.

Asynchronous multi-node filesystem coordinated replication

A method for maintaining a switch. The method includes identifying a first phase to enter in a boot-up process for the switch, where the boot-up process includes a number of phases and the first phase is one of the phases. The method further includes determining a phase exit condition from a first snapshot of the switch, where the first snapshot includes state information for each of the of phases. The method further includes transitioning to the first phase and after transitioning to the first phase: starting a first countdown timer for the first phase, and executing, on the switch, a first networking protocol for the first phase. The method further includes determining, in response to the executing, that a first current state of the switch satisfies the phase exit condition, and exiting the first phase, where the first countdown timer is not expired when exiting the first phase.

Method and system for network device maintenance

Data replication is disclosed. Originator data subsets are redistributed among a plurality of originator nodes from an initial distribution arrangement to a new distribution arrangement. Data redistribution information is determined. The redistribution information includes identification information of the originator data subsets, identification information of originator nodes comprising the initial distribution arrangement, and identification information of originator nodes comprising the new distribution arrangement. The redistribution information is sent to a replica system comprising a plurality of replica nodes. The redistribution information is used by the replica system to redistribute corresponding replica data subsets among a plurality of replica nodes from a previously replicated arrangement to a new replicated arrangement.

Data redistribution in data replication systems

Data replication comprises: redistributing one or more originator data subsets among a plurality of originator nodes; determining data redistribution information pertaining to redistribution of the one or more originator data subsets among the plurality of originator nodes; and sending data redistribution information to a replica system. The data redistribution information is used by the replica system to redistribute one or more corresponding replica data subsets among a plurality of replica nodes; and the one or more corresponding replica data subsets are redistributed among the plurality of replica nodes without requiring the one or more originator data subsets to be sent to the replica system during redistribution.

A system includes one or more processors configured to redistribute one or more originator data subsets among a plurality of originator nodes and determine data redistribution information pertaining to redistribution of the one or more originator data subsets among the plurality of originator nodes. The system further includes a communication interface configured to send data redistribution information to a replica system. The data redistribution information is used by the replica system to redistribute one or more corresponding replica data subsets among a plurality of replica nodes.

Support for virtualization in a storage area networks may be provided using a variety of techniques. In one embodiment of the present invention, exchange level load balancing may be provided by determining if input/outputs (IOs) received by a device are new. If a particular IO is new, the IO may be assigned to a particular data path processor and an context may be created corresponding to the IO and to the processor. Then, when an event corresponding to the IO is received, the event may be forwarded to the processor assigned to the IO.
