A floating quad connector assembly is designed to hold two pairs of simplex connecters in a quad formation and to permit the two pairs of connectors to float within the assembly, thereby rendering the quad connector assembly compatible with different quad adapters having different spacings between the two middle simplex ports. Also, a segmental switch module is configured to aggregate multiple category-rated connectors in an array formation while permitting the spacings between the connectors to float, thereby rendering the switch module compatible with port arrays of different port-to-port spacings.

A cable management device comprises cable management tray with a door that is connected to the cable management tray by a hinge, allowing the door to be opened without removing the door from the tray, and which also permits the door to be easily disengaged from the tray using a simple manual interaction that can be performed even if visibility to the hinge is limited.

A fiber optic adapter with a housing defining an open-ended through-channel having a first port at one end and a second port at another end. The first and second ports being configured to receive first and second fiber optic connectors, respectively. The adapter may include a shutter door and a biasing member. The shutter door automatically transitions to an open position when the first connector is inserted into the first port and is automatically transitioned to the closed position by the biasing member when the first connector is removed from the first port. The adapter may include a cover and an alignment sleeve. The cover has a cylinder positioned inside the through-channel of the housing. The cylinder has a bore in which the alignment sleeve is positioned. The alignment sleeve has an open-ended through-channel configured to receive first and second ferrules of the first and second connectors, respectively.

A communication outlet for use with a communication plug comprising a plurality of plug contacts. The outlet includes contact pads, contact members, and a biasing member. The contact members each have an electrically conductive portion attached to an electrically non-conductive portion. Each of the conductive portions forms an electrical connection with a different corresponding one of the contact pads. Each of the contact members is movable with respect to its corresponding contact pad. The contact members are movable with respect the plug contacts. The biasing member is attached to the non-conductive portion of each of the contact members and is configured to bias the conductive portion of each of the contact members toward a different corresponding one of the plug contacts when the plug is inserted into the outlet.

A communication connector including elongated contacts, and an optional flexible compensation circuit. The elongated contacts include a plurality of contact pairs. Each pair includes first and second contacts configured to transmit a differential signal. The elongated contacts may each have first and second portions with first and second heights, respectively. The first height is greater than the second height. The first portion of the first contact is positioned alongside the first portion of the second contact to capacitively couple the first and second contacts together. The optional flexible compensation circuit includes compensation circuitry configured to at least partially reduce crosstalk between the elongated contacts.

Each pair includes first and second contacts configured to transmit a differential signal. The elongated contacts may each have first and second portions with first and second heights, respectively. The first height is greater than the second height. The first portion of the first contact is positioned alongside the first portion of the second contact to capacitively couple the first and second contacts together. The optional flexible compensation circuit includes compensation circuity configured to at least partially reduce crosstalk between the elongated contacts.

A universal serial bus (USB) sensor bar and a device manager are configured to intelligently monitor one or more patch panels. The USB sensor bar comprises an array of sensors configured to read identification data from memory devices affixed to respective cables plugged into ports of a patch panel. The USB sensor bar converts the identification data to a USB protocol and sends the data to a device manager over a USB bus. The device manager uses the received information to document a network architecture, generate web-based interfaces that render configuration and status information for the network, and generate alarms or notifications in response to detection of defined network conditions.

Intelligent patch panel port monitoring system

Apparatuses, devices, systems, and methods are provided for prevention of tampering with cables and associated systems. In one aspect, an anti-tamper adapter is provided that can inhibit or prohibit cable tampering for existing cables. In a further aspect, dummy plugs or blocking plugs can employ disclosed anti-tamper adapters to facilitate blocking ports or outlets that are intended to remain undisturbed for a period of time. The provided embodiments can economically and flexibly facilitate cable tamper prevention in a wide array of cable technologies.

Cable tamper prevention

A spring assembly for a communications jack including a plurality of jack contacts each electrically connectable to a corresponding plug contact of a communications plug. First and second jack contacts carry a first differential signal. Fifth and sixth jack contacts carry a second differential signal. The jack contacts carrying the first differential signal are adjacent a third jack contract and the jack contacts carrying the second differential signal are adjacent a fourth jack contract. For each jack contact, the assembly has a conductive spring member electrically connected to the jack contact that biases the jack contact against a corresponding plug contact. To reduce crosstalk, the spring members connected to the first and second jack contacts are each capacitively coupled to the fourth jack contact, and the spring members connected to the fifth and sixth jack contacts are each capacitively coupled to the third jack contact.

Apparatuses, devices, systems, and methods are provided for prevention of tampering with cables and associated systems. In one aspect, an anti-tamper adapter is provided that can inhibit or prohibit cable tampering for existing cables. The provided embodiments can economically and flexibly facilitate cable tamper prevention in a wide array of cable technologies.

A spring assembly for a communications jack configured to receive a communications plug having a plurality of plug contacts. The jack includes first, second, third, and fourth jack contacts. The first and second jack contacts are configured to carry a first differential signal. The third and fourth jack contacts are configured to carry a second differential signal. Each jack contact is electrically connected to a corresponding one of the plug contacts when the plug is received by the jack. The spring assembly has a conductive spring member for each jack contact. Each spring member is electrically connected to a corresponding jack contact and biases that jack contact against a corresponding plug contact. To reduce crosstalk, the spring member connected to the first jack contact is capacitively coupled to the third jack contact and the spring member connected to the fourth jack contact is capacitively coupled to the second jack contact.
