A microfluidic delivery device and method of dispensing a fluid composition therefrom is provided. The microfluidic delivery device includes a housing electrically connectable with a power source; a cartridge releasably connectable with the housing; and a fan connected with the housing. The cartridge has a reservoir for containing a fluid composition and microfluidic die in fluid communication with the reservoir. The die is configured such that substantially all of the fluid composition exits the microfluidic die in a horizontal direction or downward direction relative to horizontal. The fan is configured to generate air flow that converges with and redirects the fluid composition dispensed from the microfluidic die in an upward direction relative to horizontal.

Microfluidic delivery device and method for dispensing a fluid composition upward into the air

A volatile composition dispenser includes a housing having an aperture and having opposing first and second walls that are joined along their peripheries to one another, where said second wall has a plurality of apertures; a volatile composition cartridge disposed within the housing between said first and second walls; and a gap, which exists between said volatile composition cartridge and a bottom surface of the housing, wherein said bottom surface is formed from a base portion of one or both of the first and second walls. Upon activation, the exposure percentage is greater than 40%.

The first wall has an aperture and the second wall has a plurality of apertures. Within the housing, rests a volatile composition cartridge and a gap, which exists between the cartridge and a bottom surface of the housing, wherein said bottom surface is formed from a joinder of a base portion of one or both of the first and second walls, and wherein, upon activation, the exposure percentage of the dispenser is from about 40% to about 90%; wherein at least about 60% of the total surface area of the plurality of apertures results from individual apertures of said plurality that each have an area of at least 30 mmand an aspect ratio of at least about 1:2. Dispenser of a similar housing, cartridge, and gap when is activated by a user and thirty days after said activation, exhibits about 70% to 90% weight loss of said volatile composition of a partially exposed membrane of a fully exposed membrane.

A cartridge that is releasably connectable with a housing of a microfluidic delivery device is provided. The cartridge has a reservoir for containing a fluid composition and a microfluidic die in fluid communication with the reservoir. The microfluidic die is configured to dispense substantially all of the fluid composition in a horizontal direction or downward direction relative to horizontal. The cartridge also includes an air flow channel disposed below the reservoir. The air flow channel extends from a fan to an air outlet. The air flow channel comprises a first region disposed adjacent to a fan, a second region disposed adjacent to the air outlet, and a third region joining the first and second regions. At least the second region is angled upward to the air outlet, relative to horizontal.

Microfluidic delivery cartridge for use with a microfluidic delivery device

A microfluidic delivery device and method of dispensing a fluid composition from a microfluidic die are provided. The method includes generating air flow from a fan; directing a first portion of the air flow through a first air outlet in a housing; directing a second portion of the air flow through a second air outlet in the housing; jetting a fluid composition from a microfluidic die through a fluid orifice in the housing; directing the second portion of air flow adjacent to the microfluidic die and out the fluid outlet, wherein the first portion of the air flow directs the fluid composition jetted out of the fluid outlet into the air.

Microfluidic cartridge and microfluidic delivery device comprising the same
