The present disclosure relates to a dual-polarized phased array antenna and a dual-polarized phased array weather radar. According to the dual-polarized phased array antenna, a plurality of dual-polarized row feeds are arranged on a horizontal cylindrical support surface to form a dual-polarized antenna in a horizontal cylindrical shape. This allows two polarized signals in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction to be simultaneously received and transmitted, and ensures digital multi-beam signals with constant beam bandwidth, antenna gain, and dual polarization performance. The dual-polarized phased array weather radar provided in the present disclosure uses the formed dual-polarized microstrip patch antenna or a dual-polarized waveguide slot antenna in the horizontal cylindrical shape. This can ensure consistency of weather detected at different scan angles, and improve the accuracy of weather target 3D construction. In addition, this can simplify the calibration requirement of an existing phased array weather radar.

The present disclosure relates to spherical dual-polarization phased array weather radar. The spherical dual-polarization phased array weather radar comprises a spherical crown phased array antenna module, a digital transceiver module and a signal processing module, wherein the spherical crown phased array antenna module comprises a spherical support frame and a plurality of dual-polarization micro-strip radiation units; the dual-polarized micro-strip radiation units are tightly arranged on the spherical support frame; the spherical crown phased array antenna module is used for detecting weather; wireless transmission is carried out between the digital transceiver module and the spherical crown phased array antenna module; the digital transceiver module is used for generating a frequency modulation signal or a phase coding signal required for detecting meteorological targets and receiving an echo signal reflected by the target; and the signal processing module is connected with the digital transceiver module.

Spherical dual-polarization phased array weather radar

A technology is described for mapping a physical environment. An example method may include receiving laser point data for laser light reflected from the physical environment and detected by a laser sensor. Points included in the laser point data can be correlated to grid cells in an environment map that represents the physical environment. Error ranges for the points correlated to the grid cells can be determined based in part on an error distribution. Occupation probabilities can then be calculated for the grid cells in the environment map using an interpolation technique and grid cell occupation probabilities for adjacent error grid cells selected based in part on the error ranges of the points, and the grid cells in the environment map can be updated with the occupation probabilities.

A robotic system is disclosed that uses autonomous tunnel navigation. The system includes a plurality of sensors (e.g., ranging, odometry) to measure a distance from the robotic system to a plurality of walls. Memory stores instructions and a processor is coupled to the memory and the plurality of sensors to execute the instructions. The instructions cause the robotic system to detect movement of the robotic system through a surrounding environment based on sensor measurements, determine if the robotic system is in a tunnel based on the sensor measurements, and navigate with the odometry-based sensor when the robotic system is determined to be in the tunnel or the ranging sensor when the robotic system is determined to be not in the tunnel.

A system and method of teaching a neural network through reinforcement learning methodology. The system includes a machine-readable medium having one or more processors that perform a motion task to produce a first result corresponding to navigating a device during a first episode and performing an interaction task during that same episode. After completion of the first episode a processor calculates a Q value change based on the first task result and the second task result. The processor then modifies parameters based on the Q value change such that during subsequent episode iterations the motion task and interactive task are improved and a smooth and continuous transition occurs between these two tasks.

Embodiments of the invention provide a programming model for CPU-GPU platforms. In particular, embodiments of the invention provide a uniform programming model for both integrated and discrete devices. The model also works uniformly for multiple GPU cards and hybrid GPU systems (discrete and integrated). This allows software vendors to write a single application stack and target it to all the different platforms. Additionally, embodiments of the invention provide a shared memory model between the CPU and GPU.
