A display device includes a display array and a driving circuit. The display array includes at least one scan line. The driving circuit drives the display array and includes a timing controller and a gate driver. The timing controller controls a refresh rate of the display array at a first frequency or a second frequency, where the first frequency is higher substantially than the second frequency. The gate driver switches between supplying an enable voltage signal and a disable voltage signal to the scan line. Under the first or frequency, a corresponding first or second voltage difference exists between the enable voltage signal and the disable voltage signal. The first voltage difference is substantially greater than the second voltage difference, and the enable voltage signal has a same enable period.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a display medium, a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode and a transparent electrode. Sub-pixel units are defined on the first substrate and the second substrate. A sub-pixel unit has a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. The transparent electrode is disposed on the second substrate, and the transparent electrode receives a first common potential and a second common potential. When grey levels displayed by the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel are in the range of about 96 to 180, a potential difference between the first common potential received when the first sub-pixel has the maximum brightness and the second common potential received when the second sub-pixel has the minimum brightness is in the range of about 0 mV to 100 mV.

Display device

An embedded sensor of a touch panel includes at least a readout unit and a reset unit. The total readout length or the total reset length during each sensing period may be larger than the pixel refresh period by introducing other readout units, introducing other reset units, or increasing the enabling period of the gate driving signals, thereby enhancing the sensibility of the touch panel.

Touch-sensing display panel module which improves sensing ability using reset unit and readout unit and related driving method

A liquid crystal display having photo-sensing input mechanism includes a first gate line for transmitting a first gate signal, a second gate line for transmitting a second gate signal, a data line for transmitting a data signal, a pixel unit for outputting an image signal according to the first gate signal and the data signal, a readout line for transmitting a readout signal, a photo-sensing input unit and a driving adjustment unit. The photo-sensing input unit is utilized for generating a sensing voltage according to a driving voltage and an incident light signal, and is further utilized for outputting the readout signal according to the sensing voltage and the first gate signal. The driving adjustment unit is employed to provide the driving voltage according to the second gate signal and the incident light signal.

Liquid crystal display having photo-sensing input mechanism

An optical touch display panel includes a plurality of resetting signal lines, a plurality of scanning signal lines, and a plurality of optical sensing touch units. Each optical sensing touch unit includes an optical sensing element and a storage capacitor. The optical sensing elements in a first direction are connected electrically to different scanning signal lines, and are configured to respectively receive a control signal. The optical sensing elements in a second direction includes a plurality of groups, and the optical sensing elements of each group are connected electrically to different resetting signal lines, so that each group receives a reset signal. Each optical sensing element outputs a charging signal corresponding to the reset signal to the storage capacitor according to the control signal, so as to reset a voltage of the storage capacitor.

Optical touch display panel

A photo sensor type touch panel includes a plurality of readout lines electrically connected in parallel. The overall capacitance of a coupling capacitor between the readout lines connected in parallel and adjacent data lines having one type of polarity is equal to the overall capacitance of a coupling capacitor between the readout lines connected in parallel and adjacent data lines having the other type of polarity.

Photo sensor type touch panel

A pixel circuit includes a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. The first sub-pixel is coupled to a scan line and a data line, so as to determine whether to be enabled according to a first scan signal transmitted on the scan line, and whether to be driven according to a data signal transmitted on the data line. The second sub-pixel is coupled to the scan line, so as to determine whether to be enabled according to the first scan signal. The data signal is in a first state when the first scan signal is in a pre-charged period. The data signal is in a second state during a time interval after the pre-charged period is over and before the first scan signal enters a turn-on period. Voltage polarities of the first state and the second state are opposite. The pixel design can improve color shift and frame flicker.

Pixel circuit

A photo-sensor type input apparatus includes an upper substrate, a bottom substrate, at least one first photo sensing device, and at least one second photo sensing device. The bottom substrate is correspondingly disposed below the upper substrate. The first photo sensing device is disposed on the bottom substrate and arranged to detect a received first type input event. The second photo sensing device is disposed on the bottom substrate and arranged to detect a received second type input event. A light sensing ability of the first photo sensing device is different from a light sensing ability of the second photo sensing device.

Photo-sensor type input apparatus for identifying different types of input events simultaneously, and related display apparatus thereof

A touch pixel array substrate suitable for a touch display panel includes a first substrate, scan lines, data lines, signal-control lines, read-out lines, voltage-shielding lines, active devices, pixel electrodes, and photo-sensing units. The scan lines, the data lines, the signal-control lines, the read-out lines, and the voltage-shielding lines are located on the first substrate. Each of the read-out lines is located between two adjacent data lines. Each of the voltage-shielding lines is located between one of the read-out lines and one of the data lines. Both sides of each of the read-out lines are adjacent to two voltage-shielding lines. The photo-sensing units are located on the first substrate and electrically connected to the scan lines, the signal-control lines, and the read-out lines correspondingly. A touch display panel and a touch pixel structure are also provided.

Touch pixel structure, touch pixel array substrate and touch display panel

An optical sense-control system, for receiving a first light and second light, includes a first optical filter, a second optical filter, and an optical detection module. The transmission of the first light having a majority intensity in a first wave-length band is greater than the transmission of the second light having a majority intensity in a second wave-length band in the first optical filter, the first wave-length band is less than the second wave-length band, and the transmission of the second light is greater than the transmission of the first light in the second optical filter. The optical detection module is used for creating a first control signal while the first light emitting through the first optical filter at a first zone is detected and a second control signal is created while the second light emitting through the second optical filter at a second zone is detected.

Optical sense-control system having light filters

A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided. The liquid crystal display includes a plurality of pixels, a plurality of scan lines, and a plurality of data lines. Each pixel includes a plurality of sub-pixels. Each sub-pixel is coupled to the data line, and includes a switch, a storage capacitor, and a sub-pixel electrode. The switch is coupled to a scan line to receive a scan signal. The switch is turned on by the scan signal to receive a data signal transmitted from the data line. The storage capacitors of the sub-pixels of each pixel are coupled to the scan lines, or the storage capacitor of one of the sub-pixels of each pixel is coupled to a common electrode and the storage capacitors of the other sub-pixels are coupled to the scan lines. The switch and the storage capacitor of each sub-pixel are coupled to different scan lines. The method includes transmitting the scan signal having a plurality of voltage levels to modulate the voltage levels of one or more sub-pixel electrodes of the sub-pixels of the same pixel, thereby enabling the sub-pixels of the same pixel to have different voltage levels.
