A receptacle connector includes: a housing including a base and a mating tongue in front of the base, the mating tongue defining a thickened portion at a root to the base, the mating tongue defining a pair of lateral locking sides; two rows of contacts with contacting section exposing to opposite surfaces of the mating tongue in front of the thickened portion and tail sections extending out of the base; and a metallic shield retained on the base and surrounding the mating tongue to define a mating cavity among the shield and the mating tongue. The shield is formed via a deep drawing process.

Flippable electrical connector

A receptacle connector includes an insulating housing including a base and a mating tongue extending from the base and the mating tongue defining a thicken step portion at a root near to the base, two rows of contacts with contacting section exposing to opposite surfaces of the mating tongue in front of the step portion and tail sections extending out of the base, and a pair of separate metallic collars respectively disposed upon the opposite surface of the step portion. Two opposite ends of each metallic collar are embedded in the step portion of the insulating housing via an inserting mold process.

A method of making a receptacle connector includes: Step 1: providing an upper terminal module making via a first inserting molded process; Step 2: providing an lower terminal module making via another first inserting molded process; Step 3: stacking the upper and lower terminal modules together in a vertical direction so as to provide a main basis; Step 4: applied an insulative filler on the main basis via a second insert molding process, wherein the insulative filler fills and completes the front tongues of the upper and lower terminal module thereby forming a mating tongue for inserting a plug connector.

A receptacle connector includes an insulative housing with a mating tongue, a plurality of contacts having front contacting sections exposed upon two opposite surfaces of the mating tongue and rear tail sections extending downwardly outside of the housing for mounting to a printed circuit board. A metallic shield encloses said housing and forms a capsular mating cavity with said mating tongue extending forwardly therein. A metallic shielding plate includes a front horizontal section embedded with the mating tongue to isolate the contacting sections of the contacts which are located on two different opposite surfaces, and a rear vertical section extending downwardly from a rear edge of the front horizontal section to isolate the tail sections of the contacts which are arranged in two rows with said rear vertical section therebewteen.

A plug connector mateable with the receptacle connector, includes an insulative housing enclosed in a metallic shell, defining a receiving cavity to receive the mating tongue, and equipped with a plurality of contacts on opposite sides in the vertical direction. A latch forms a pair of locking heads extending into two opposite lateral sides of the receiving cavity to lock with a shielding plate embedded within a mating tongue of the complementary receptacle connector during mating.

An electrical connector assembly includes a first connector and a second connector. The first connector includes a first terminal group and a first magnetic element around the first terminal group, the first terminal group defines a first central terminal and two first outer terminals located at both sides of the first central terminal. The second connector includes a second terminal group and a second magnetic element, the second terminal group defines a second central terminal, a second outer terminal and an elastic terminal located at both sides of the second central terminal. When the first connector is engaging with the second connector, the first and second magnetic elements are attached to each other, the first central terminal is contacting the second central terminal, the second outer terminal is contacting either of the first outer terminals and the elastic terminal is elastically abutting against the first magnetic element.

Dual orientation electrical connector assembly

An electrical connector includes a metallic shell defining a mating cavity opening forwards, a terminal module assembly received in the metallic shell, and a shielding plate being located between an upper surface and a lower surface of the terminal module assembly. The terminal module assembly defines a front region exposed in the mating cavity to function as a mating tongue. The terminal module assembly defines an insulator associated with a plurality of contacts with corresponding contacting sections exposed upon opposite upper and lower faces of the mating tongue, the contacts are categorized with differential pairs and grounding contacts. The shielding plate defines a main plate and grounding fingers split from the main plate to directly touch with corresponding grounding contacts. The shielding plate is embedded with the terminal module assembly and the grounding fingers of the shielding plate are fixed with the insulator of the terminal assembly.

A thin card connector () includes an insulative housing () with a hollow () accommodating a thin card, a bottom wall of the insulative housing defining a card supporting surface () disposed under the hollow; a group of first terminals () having contacting portions () extending into the hollow, a group of second terminals () having contacting portions () extending into the hollow, the contacting portions of the first contacts located in front of contacting portions of the second terminals; and at least one guiding groove () defined in a front segment of the card supporting surface and disposed under the hollow, the guiding groove passing through a front end of the bottom wall to ventilate an exterior.

Thin card connector adapted for thin card

A card connector includes a main housing having a base portion, a pair of side walls and a bottom wall connecting with the base portion and side walls thereby defining a receiving cavity. Multiple groups of contact sets comprise at least one grounding contact. The contact sets have contacting portions projecting into the receiving cavity. A metallic shell covers a top side of the main housing and defines an insertion opening together with the main housing. A pair of guiders are floatably assembled on opposite sides of the insertion opening for guiding different sized cards. A grounding plate which is attached to a bottom side of the main housing, comprises a pair of flexible tangs respectively pressing against a bottom side of the guiders. The grounding plate further comprises a grounding section electrically contacting with the at least one grounding contact so as to establish a grounding path.

Card connector

A card connector () includes an insulating housing () defining a card receiving space; a set of first contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with XD card, and the first contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); a set of second contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with SD card, the second contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); a set of third contacts () supported by the insulative housing and adapted for mating with MS card, the third contacts having at least one grounding contact (G); and at least two of the grounding contacts commonly grounded.

A card connector () includes an insulative housing defining a card receiving space; a plurality of contacts () supported by the insulative housing and accommodated in the card receiving space, said the plurality of contacts divided into two sets and arranged along a longitudinal direction, said contacts adapted for mating with a first type card and a second type card, respectively; and an ejecting mechanism () mounted to the insulative housing, the ejecting mechanism () including a first slider (), a second slider ('), a follower () and a spring (), the first slider mounted to the second slider and capable of moving on the second slider to carry one of the two cards, and the first slider and the second slider together to carry the other of the two card.

Multi-function card connector

An electrical card connector () adapted for receiving an electrical card comprises an insulative housing (), a plurality of terminals () received in the insulative housing, and a shell () assembled on the insulative housing. The insulative housing comprises a front wall () and a pair of lateral walls () extending from the opposite ends of the front wall. The insulative housing defines a card inserting opening () opposite to the front wall along a card inserting direction. The shell comprises a main portion () and a pair of lateral portions () extending downwardly from the opposite sides of the main portion, each lateral portion only defines a soldering plate () extending inwardly therefrom at the distal end thereof adjacent to the card inserting opening.

Shielded memory card connector

An electrical card connector for receiving at least two electrical cards, comprises: an insulating housing; a shielding shell substantially enclosing the insulating housing; a front row of terminals and a rear row of terminals received in the insulating housing; an ejector receiving in one side of the insulating housing for ejecting two cards; wherein the front row of terminals are for connecting with one kind of electrical card and the front and the rear row of terminals together are for connecting with the other kind of electrical card.

Electrical card connector
