A wireless communication link is established between a first station (STA) and a second STA in a 6-GHz band. The first STA and the second STA the communicate in the 6-GHz band using a low-power indoor (LPI) long range (LR) physical-layer protocol data unit (PPDU). The LPI LR PPDU includes a legacy preamble, a universal signal field (U-SIG), an extreme-high-throughput signal field (EHT-SIG), an extreme-high-throughput short training field (EHT-STF), an extreme-high-throughput long training field (EHT-LTF), and a payload. Each of the legacy preamble, U-SIG and EHT-SIG is modulated and duplicated over multiple 20-MHz subchannels for a 80-MHz, 160-MHz or 320-MHz bandwidth over which the LPI LR PPDU is transmitted. Each of the EHT-STF, EHT-LTF and payload is modulated and transmitted on an entirety of the 80-MHz, 160-MHz or 320-MHz bandwidth.

Long-range transmission and reception for low-power indoor applications in 6-GHz band

A wireless communications method includes: obtaining a plurality of stream inputs, wherein the stream inputs include a first stream input complying with a first packet format and a second stream input complying with a second packet format, and the second packet format is different from the first packet format; applying pre-coding to the stream inputs to generate a plurality of pre-coded stream outputs, respectively; and performing wireless transmission upon the pre-coded stream outputs, wherein downlink Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO) transmission is involved in the wireless transmission of the pre-coded stream outputs.

A method of direction finding (DF) positioning based on a simplified antenna platform format in a wireless communication network is proposed. A receiver receives antenna platform format information of a transmitter having multiple antenna elements. The antenna platform format information comprises an antenna platform format indicator, antenna platform position and orientation information, a number of antenna elements, and switching delay, phase center, and polarization information for each antenna element. The receiver receives a plurality of direction finding sounding signals transmitted from the transmitter via the multiple antenna elements. The receiver performs a DF algorithm based on the plurality of DF sounding signals and the antenna platform format information and thereby estimating a DF solution. Finally, the receiver determines its own location information based on the estimated DF solution.

A wireless communicating method includes: performing one resource unit allocation upon a channel; and allocating a first resource unit and a second resource unit in said one resource unit allocation to a station, wherein the first resource unit is different from the second resource unit. By using the wireless communication method, throughput rate can be improved.

A receiver for receiving a target signal complying with a specific communication specification comprising a specific spectrum characteristic includes a detecting module for detecting a packet of an input signal, a transforming unit for transforming the packet from a time domain to a frequency domain to derive a spectrum characteristic of the input signal, and a determining unit for determining whether the input signal is the target signal according to the spectrum characteristic of the input signal. Therefore, the proposed receiver is able to reduce packet miss rate and false alarm rate while robust to a severe channel condition, and achieve fast and accurate signal quality detection.

A method for estimating a phase error existing in a receiver of a MIMO OFDM communications system is disclosed. The method includes executing Hermitian transpose on channel coefficient matrix of the MIMO OFDM communications system for generating Hermitian-transposed channel coefficient matrix, multiplying received signal matrix of the receiver with the Hermitian-transposed channel coefficient matrix for generating converted signals, summing products of the converted signals and complex conjugates of pilot signals corresponding to the converted signals for generating a sum result, and generating the phase error according to the sum result, the converted signals, and the complex conjugates of the pilot signals. The pilot signals are extracted from the received signal matrix.
