A light emitting diode device includes a substrate, a reflector cup on the substrate and defining cavity, a light-emitting chip on the substrate and in the cavity, fluorescent glue filling the cavity and covering the light-emitting chip, and a phosphor film on a side of the reflector cup away from the substrate. The light-emitting chip is surrounded by the reflector cup. The fluorescent glue includes fluorescent powder and transparent glue.

A lead frame for an LED package includes a substrate and a bonding electrode, a first connecting electrode, and a second connecting electrode embedded in the substrate. A top surface of the bonding electrode includes a first bonding surface and a second bonding surface spaced from the first bonding surface. A top surface of the first connecting electrode includes separated first and second connecting surfaces. Top surfaces of the bonding electrode, the first connecting electrode, and the second connecting electrode are exposed, and support and electrically connect with light emitting chips. LED packages can be mounted on the lead frame and electrically connect with each other. The conductive layout of the lead frame further permits installation of a zener diode which can be connected to the LED packages in series or in parallel.

Lead frame and light emitting diode package having the same

An exemplary lead frame includes a substrate and a bonding electrode, a first connecting electrode, and a second connecting electrode embedded in the substrate. A top surface of the bonding electrode includes a first bonding surface and a second bonding surface spaced from the first bonding surface. A top surface of the first connecting electrode includes a first connecting surface and a second connecting surface spaced from the first connecting surface. Top surfaces of the bonding electrode, the first connecting electrode and the second connecting electrode are exposed out of the substrate to support and electrically connect with light emitting chips. Light emitting chips can be mounted on the lead frame and electrically connect with each other in parallel or in series; thus, the light emitting chips can be connected with each in a versatile way.

An LED device includes a substrate having a top surface and a bottom surface. The substrate defines a through hole at a center thereof. The LED device also includes an electrode board. The electrode board defines a concave portion at a center thereof, and a convex portion connected to and surrounding two sides of the concave portion. The concave portion includes a first electrode and a second electrode isolated from each other, and is located in the through hole of the substrate. A bottommost surface of the concave portion is substantially coplanar with the bottom surface of the substrate, and a top surface of the convex portion is substantially coplanar with the top surface of the substrate. An LED chip is arranged on the concave portion, and is electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode. A method for manufacturing plural such LED devices is also provided.

Light emitting diode device and method for manufacturing same

A method for making a light emitting module includes: a. providing a flexible substrate; b. forming a plurality of rigid portions in the flexible substrate; c. forming an electrically conductive layer on the rigid portions, the electrically conductive layer having several electrodes apart from each other; d. arranging a plurality of LED dies on the electrically conductive layer with each LED die striding over and electrically connected to two neighboring electrodes; e. forming an encapsulating layer to cover the LED dies; and f. cutting through the flexible substrate. At least one of above steps b, c, d, e is performed by a roll applying process.

Method for packaging light emitting diodes and light emitting module having LED packages formed by the method

A method for manufacturing an LED package includes providing a substrate including an insulating layer inlayed with first and second electrodes. The first and second electrodes define a chip fastening area. An LED chip is fastened on the chip fastening area and electrically connected to the first and second electrodes. A buffer layer including a shelter and grooves is brought to be located over the substrate wherein the shelter covers the chip fastening area and the grooves are located over portions of the substrate beside the first and second electrodes. A reflecting layer is formed in the grooves of the buffer layer by injecting liquid material into the grooves. The buffer layer is removed after the liquid material is solidified and a through hole is defined. An encapsulant is formed to cover the LED chip by injecting the encapsulant into the through hole and the chip fastening area.

Method for manufacturing LED package

A method for manufacturing an LED package includes following steps: providing a base with an LED chip mounted on the base; providing a porous carrier with a plurality of holes, and disposing the base on the porous carrier; providing a film with a phosphor layer attached on the film; providing a mold, and putting the porous carrier, the base, the LED chip, and the film into the mold; extracting air from the mold to an external environment through the holes of the porous carrier, and/or, blowing air toward the film to urge the film to move toward the LED chip, resulting in that the film is conformably attached onto the LED chip and the base; and solidifying the phosphor layer on the LED chip by means of heating whereby the phosphor is conformably and securely attached on the LED chip.

Method for manufacturing LED

A method for manufacturing an LED includes steps: providing a base and an LED chip disposed on the base; providing an optical element and disposing the optical element on the base to cover the LED chip; providing a phosphor film and disposing the phosphor film on the optical element; providing a holding plate with capillary holes and disposing the base on the holding plate; providing a mold, wherein the mold and the holding plate cooperatively form a receiving room which receives the base, the LED chip, the optical element and the phosphor film therein; extracting air from the receiving room through the capillary holes of the holding plate, and/or, blowing air toward the phosphor film, whereby the phosphor film is conformably attached onto the optical element; and solidifying the phosphor film on the optical element.

An LED device comprises a substrate, a circuit, two LED dies, a dam and a reflector. The dam divides the substrate into a first area and a second area, wherein one of the two LED dies is disposed on the first area and the other is disposed on the second area. The dam insulates radiant lights emitted from the two LED dies, whereby interference between the radiant lights can be prevented. Four separate electrodes are provided on the substrate, wherein one LED die is connected to two electrodes and the other LED die is electrically connected to the other two electrodes.

An LED unit includes an LED and an optical element. The LED includes a substrate, an LED chip fixed on the substrate and an encapsulation encapsulating the LED chip. The LED further includes a first magnet fixed on the substrate. The optical element includes an optical adjustment layer and a second magnet. The second magnet attracts the first magnet to fix the optical element on the LED. The LED unit can be adjusted to have different optical characteristics by replacing the optical element thereof with another optical element.

LED unit

An LED module includes a substrate comprising a base plate and an elastic arm extending from a periphery side of the base plate. The elastic arm includes a horizontal portion parallel to and spaced from the base plate. A receiving space is defined between the horizontal portion of the elastic arm and the base plate. A circuit layer is formed on the base plate. An LED is mounted on the base plate and electrically connects with the circuit layer. The LED comprises a base and at least one electrode extending outwardly from the base. The LED is fixed on the substrate via the at least one electrode slideably received in the receiving space with a downward force applied on the electrode by the horizontal portion of the elastic arm.

LED module

A method for manufacturing an LED (light emitting diode) includes following steps: providing a first electrode, a second electrode and a Zener diode, the Zener diode being electrically connected to the first and second electrodes; providing a mold; the first electrode, the second electrode and the Zener diode being received in the mold; injecting a liquid molding material into the mold, thereby integrally forming a base, a dam, and a reflective cup, the Zener diode being encapsulated in the dam; setting first and second LED chips respectively on the first and second electrodes; filling an encapsulation material in the reflective cup to encapsulate the first and second LED chips. The first and second LED chips are separated from each other by the dam.

A side-emitting LED includes a substrate formed with a plurality of electrodes, an LED chip bonded onto the substrate and electrically connected to the electrodes, a transparent member encapsulating the LED chip and a casing fixed on the substrate. The transparent member has a flat bottom surface attached to the substrate, a vertically surface extending perpendicularly from a straight side edge of the flat bottom surface and a curved surface connected to curved edges of the flat bottom and vertical surfaces. The casing encapsulates the transparent member excepting the vertical surface of the transparent member. The curved surface of the transparent member is shaped as a part of an outer surface of an ellipsoid.
