A display control apparatus applied for an image display apparatus having a plurality of display regions is provided. The display regions are respectively corresponding to a plurality of backlight modules and the luminance of the backlight modules are independently controlled. The display control apparatus includes a backlight control unit. The backlight control unit receives a first image data to generate a plurality of local backlight control signals accordingly. The local backlight control signals are used for controlling the luminance of the backlight modules. The backlight control unit divides the first image data to be a plurality of local image data respectively corresponding to the display regions. Furthermore, the backlight control unit generates one of the local backlight control signals according to one of the local image data respectively.

The image processing method includes: analyzing an image frame to obtain an original gain value corresponding to grayscale values of the image frame, wherein the original gain value is greater than 1; obtaining a lookup table recording conversion relationship between default grayscale values and default gain values, wherein the lookup table is used for performing anti-saturation processing on image data of the image frame; according to the original gain value, performing anti-saturation processing for the image frame by using the lookup table to obtain an adjusted conversion relationship of the image frame, wherein the adjusted conversion relationship defines a conversion relationship between different grayscale values of the image frame and corresponding adjusted gain values; and performing gain processing on image data of the image frame according to the adjusted conversion relationship.

A dimming method and dimming device for a backlight module are provided. The dimming method includes the following steps. Light distribution information of a plurality of light sources of the backlight module corresponding to a display panel is provided. According to the light distribution information of each of the light sources, a plurality of light contribution ratios of the light sources corresponding to a plurality of different positions of the display panel are obtained respectively. According to the light contribution ratios corresponding to the different positions, the needed intensity of each of the light sources is determined respectively.

The control method includes receiving an input pixel, determining the neighboring pixels of the input pixel according to a coordinate of the input pixel and the coordinates of the plurality of the sampling pixels, receiving the gamma table of the neighboring sampling pixels, each gamma table including a luminous calibrating value of a neighboring sampling pixel, retrieving the corresponding specific luminous calibrating value according to the corresponding grey level of the input pixel, and calculating the luminous calibrating value of the input pixel according to the coordinate of the input pixel, the coordinates of the neighboring sampling pixels and the specific luminous calibrating value.

Control method for improving luminous uniformity and related luminosity calibrating controller and display device

An image interpolation processing device is provided for interpolating at least one line between two adjacent lines. A prefetch unit is to prefetch pixel data of the two adjacent lines with a predetermined pixel length, so as to obtain a plurality of basic characteristics that are then stored in a first register. A characteristic processing unit is used for cutting and/or linking the basic characteristics to generate at least one set of linked characteristics. The linked characteristics are stored in a second register, as a reference for an operation unit to perform the interpolation. The operations between the operation unit and the prefetch unit are separated by a predetermined edge length.

A method for detecting an image edge is provided. Pixel data of neighbor lines of an image are read to generate a first and a second inclined edge areas between two neighbor lines. The incline edge areas are determined by detecting whether a difference of two corresponding pixel data exceeds a preset edge threshold. Then, whether there is an overlapped or nearby portion between the inclined edge areas is determined, so as to find an incline edge.

Method for detecting image edge and image interpolation using the same

An image processing circuit and method thereof for enhancing text displaying of an image are provided. The image processing circuit performs the method. Firstly, at least a first illumination area and at least a second illumination, which is located adjacent to the first illumination area in the image are defined according to luminance values of a plurality of pixels of the image. Next, a luminance regulation value of at least one of the pixels in the first illumination area is calculated, and the luminance value of the corresponding pixel in the first illumination area is adjusted according to the luminance regulation value. During processing of the image, the luminance values of all of the pixels in the second illumination area are restricted from any adjustment.
