The present invention discloses a full-color organic electroluminescent device using an organic electroluminescent element capable of emitting of ultra-violet light with wave length 380.about.400 nm as a basic element, coated with a layer of different fluorescent media (wave length converting layer) on its surface. By way of this ultra-violet light organic electroluminescent element, ultra-violet light is produced, which in turn excites the fluorescent layer to emit fluorescent lights with different colors according to the fluorescent media used, i.e. the red fluorescent medium emits red light, and the green fluorescent medium emits green light. R, G, B three color fluorescent media emit white light. By applying this principle, a high brilliance, low current and low energy consuming full-color display device may be fabricated.

LED planar light source which introduces blue light or ultra violet rays emitted from luminescent crystals to a light conductive plate from its side surface. After being scattered and diffused by the light conductive plate and reflected from a reflection layer, the incident light and the excited light from a fluorescent pigment layer are mixed and synthesized to form white light or light of another specific wave length. Such a planar light source can be utilized as a back light source for a LCD.

The innovative LED structure of the present invention mixes certain materials which can change the wave length of light in the resin of a LED and enables the LED to generate a white light and lights of various other colors as well. The shortcomings of conventional LEDs may be improved upon. By coating different fluorescent materials on the surface of a ultra violet light LED chip, it is possible to obtain a LED able to emit various colored light.

A multicolor light emitting diode (MLED) is disclosed which can emit various different colored light at the same time. A R, G, B three color LED is formed in a common crystalline granule (chip), with an ultra violet light crystalline granule formed by GaN grown on a sapphire substrate, and the finished products are all transparent. The surrounding of the granule is plated with an insulated layer and then a reflection layer. The light excited by the light granule is emitted either from the front or the back surface of LED. After the excited light has passed through a wave length converting layer, it can be converted to a colored visible light. The entire crystalline granule may be completely formed into an ultra violet or blue light chip, with wave length converting layers so that the chip can emit red, green and blue colors.

A temperature sensitive controlling device comprises a casing inside which powders of at least two shape memory alloys are disposed with a shaft movably received therein. The mix of different shape memory alloy powder provides a characteristic curve more desired than its component shape memory alloys and by adjusting the ratio between the component powders, the curve can be adjusted as one expects so that when the powders are subject to temperature variation, the shaft is moved as desired. A method for manufacturing such a temperature sensitive controlling device is also provided. The method comprises the steps of melting material metals of a given ratio together to form a shape memory alloy, atomizing the molten alloy by an inert gas flow to form a first kind of powder, providing at least a second kind of powder with the similar way, mixing these powders together in accordance with a specific ratio, disposing these powers in a casing and then sealing the casing and inserting therein a movable member to be moved by the powders when the powders are subject to temperature variations.

Temperature sensitive controlling device

A digitizer whose sensing elements are made of magnetoresistive materials is designed for use with a computer system. The digitizer board includes a substrate made of dielectric material; a first array of strip-shaped magneto-resistors arranged on the front surface of the substrate; a second array of strip-shaped magneto-resistors arranged on the reverse surface of the substrate; a plurality of analog comparators coupled to the magneto-resistors; and a pen with a magnetic pinpoint used for pointing to a particular location on the front side of the digitizer board. The resistance of the magneto-resistors will vary due to a magnetic field emerging from the nearby pinpoint, and the magnetic-resistors will be effected, and subsequently the comparators connected to the magneto-resistors will send digital signals to the computer system.

An apparatus for extinguishing a lighted cigarette comprises a hollow external seat and a storing container. A blade for cutting and extinguishing the burning portion of a lighted cigarette in combination with an L-shaped plate are provided within a seat. Both the plates are made from shape memory alloys having different temperature reaction gradients. When the burning portion of a cigarette is placed into the seat and comes into contact with the blade, the plate will restore to its memory shape by the temperature response in cutting off the lighted portion of the cigarette and extinguishing the lighted portion by pressing it on the L-shaped plate. The L-shaped plate stretches straight to let the cigarette ash drop into the storing container. When the temperature of the L-shaped plate is decreased, the plate recovers to its original position to cover the storing container. The cigarette ash is thus restricted within the storing container to prevent it from dispersing and causing pollution. A lighter is detachably inserted into the apparatus and facilitates carrying and provides a safe and clean environment.

Apparatus for extinguishing a lighted cigarette

A digital computer writing board making use of the piezoelectric characteristics by means of a soft piezoelectric film material to convert a physical pressure into an electrical signal, which is utilized to form fine electric polar lines of high resolution to be arranged into an upper layer and a lower layer quadraturally for sub-group encoding, then for reading out the positions of various signals which will be detected by a detection circuits and stored into a memory for processing by a computer and for displaying on the corresponding positions on the screen. The digital computer writing board is capable of having a common writing instrument (such as a pencil, ball pen . . . etc.) directly writing or drawing and having those character tracings or graphic patterns thus left to be processed digitally for storage in a memory for further processing, display, identification within the computer terminal or for the transmission as an electronic document and printing out, with a view to providing a solution to such problems as one in which a hand writing of characters or graphs is insusceptibly connected within an interface of the computer or communication link. This has been a revolutional contribution as means inputing some handwriting to the computers of next generation.
