A method of switching operational modes of a power converter includes starting up a primary controller applied to the power converter to make the power converter operate in a normal mode; a secondary controller applied to the power converter detecting an output voltage of a secondary side of the power converter and the primary controller detecting an operational frequency of the power converter; if the operational frequency of the power converter is lower than a predetermined frequency and satisfies a first frequency condition, the primary controller controlling the power converter to enter a sleep mode; and when the power converter enters the sleep mode and the output voltage is lower than a trigger voltage, the secondary controller making the primary controller to control the power converter turned on.

Method of switching operational modes of a power converter

A primary controller applied to a primary side of a power converter includes a ripple cancellation circuit, a compensation voltage generation circuit, and a gate control signal generation circuit. The ripple cancellation circuit generates an adjustment according to a current flowing through a feedback pin of the primary controller during turning-on of a power switch of the primary side of the power converter. The compensation voltage generation circuit generates a compensation voltage of a compensation pin of the primary controller according to the adjustment, a reference voltage, and a feedback voltage of the feedback pin. The gate control signal generation circuit generates a gate control signal to the power switch to reduce an output voltage of a secondary side of the power converter according to the compensation voltage and a detection voltage.

Primary controller applied to a primary side of a power converter and operational method thereof

A sample-and-hold circuit includes a first voltage generation unit, a second voltage generation unit, a stabilization capacitor. The first voltage generation unit generates a first voltage according to a first predetermined delay time and a voltage corresponding to an auxiliary winding of a power converter. The second voltage generation unit generates a second voltage according to K multiple of a discharge time of a secondary side of the power converter during a previous period of the power converter and the voltage, wherein K&#x3c;1. When a sum of the K multiple of the discharge time and a second predetermined delay time leads a first valley of the voltage corresponding to a current period of the power converter, the second voltage generation unit outputs the second voltage. When the sum lags the first valley, the first voltage generation unit outputs the first voltage.

A control circuit for compensating output loss of a power converter includes a sampling voltage generator, a time-to-voltage converter, and a compensation signal generator. The sampling voltage generator generates a sampling voltage corresponding to a detection voltage according to a first reference current, a second reference current, and the detection voltage. The time-to-voltage converter generates a corresponding voltage according to a period of a gate control signal controlling a power switch of a primary side of the power converter and a discharge time of a secondary side of the power converter. The compensation signal generator generates a compensation signal compensating the output loss according to the sampling voltage and the corresponding voltage.

A controller for adjusting an output voltage of a power converter includes a gate control signal generation circuit, a feedback signal detection module, and a reference voltage generation module. The gate control signal generation circuit generates a gate control signal to a power switch of a primary side of the power converter according to a reference voltage and a plurality of signals corresponding to the primary side and a secondary side of the power converter. The feedback signal detection module generates a logic signal according to a combination corresponding to the plurality of signals. The reference voltage generation module generates the reference voltage to the gate control signal generation circuit according to the logic signal. The power switch adjusts the output voltage of the secondary side of the power converter according to the gate control signal.

A control circuit for reducing touch current of a power converter includes an auxiliary pin, a zero-crossing signal generator, a frequency limiting signal generator, and a gate signal generator. The auxiliary pin is used for receiving a voltage generated by an auxiliary winding of the power converter. The zero-crossing signal generator is used for generating a zero-crossing signal according to the voltage generated by the auxiliary winding and a first reference voltage. The frequency limiting signal generator is used for generating a frequency limiting signal according to a gate control signal, a burst mode signal, and the voltage generated by the auxiliary winding. The frequency limiting signal is used for limiting the gate control signal to a predetermined frequency. The gate signal generator is used for generating the gate control signal to a power switch of the power converter according to the frequency limiting signal and the zero-crossing signal.

The zero-crossing signal generator generates a zero-crossing signal according to the voltage and a first reference voltage.
