A method for treating movement disorders is provided. The method includes the following operations. A central nervous signal of a patient with movement disorders is recorded. A first stimulation is delivered from a stimulator to the patient when an oscillation episode in a range of from about 3 Hz to about 20 Hz is observed in the central nervous signal. The first stimulation is adapted according to a measurable feature of the oscillation episode. The system for treating movement disorders is also provided.

Method and system for treating movement disorders

A method for treating neural disorders is provided. The method includes the following operation. A stimulation is delivered to a layer of a cortex of a patient with a neural disorder, wherein the stimulation is delivered to less than all layers of the cortex of the patient. In another method for treating neural disorders, a stimulation is delivered to a cortex of a patient with a neural disorder, wherein the stimulation delivered to one of a plurality of layers of the cortex is stronger than to other layers of the cortex. The system for treating neural disorder is also provided. The system includes a stimulation signal generator and a layer-specific stimulation means. The layer-specific stimulation means is coupled to the stimulation signal generator, configured to deliver a stimulation to a specific layer of a cortex of a patient with a neural disorder.

Method and system for treating neural disorders

The present invention relates to a method for testing a retinal implant. After an implantable device for interfacing with retinal cells is provided, an external stimulus is applied to the implantable device so that the implantable device transmits a first pulse to a processing device through a wireless interface. When a conversion unit is controlled to gradually decrease an output voltage until the implantable device outputs an output voltage lower than a reference voltage, the implantable device transmits a signal different from the first pulse to the processing device through the wireless interface. The processing device determines a current value of a pixel unit according to a time difference between the first pulse and the signal.

The demodulating method comprises a step of utilizing a wave-shaping voltage step-down circuit to perform a wave-shaping process for a modulating input signal. A triggering circuit of data recover is used to start the count of data span, until the data count is completed. A data recover circuit is used to recover the data.

An image-capturing device configured for an optical pointing apparatus includes a plurality of image-sensing units arranged adjacently. The plurality of image-sensing units are configured to sense images of a surface and generate sensing signals that are used for evaluating the velocity of the optical pointing apparatus. The image-capturing device is configured to use different image-sensing units arranged differently to sense the surface according to the velocity of the optical pointing apparatus. When the optical pointing apparatus moves at a first velocity, the image-capturing device uses the image-sensing units configured to occupy a smaller area to sense the surface. When the optical pointing apparatus moves at a second velocity, the image-capturing device uses the image-sensing units configured to occupy a larger area to sense the surface. The first velocity is lower than the second velocity.

There is provided a click-event detection device including a light source, a light control unit, an image sensor and a processing unit. The light control unit is configured to control the light source to illuminate a finger. The image sensor receives reflected light from the finger to accordingly output a plurality of bright image frames and dark image frames. The processing unit is configured to calculate a differential image characteristic between the bright image frames and the dark image frames, to determine a plurality of operating states according to the differential image characteristic, to count a residence time at each of the operating states, and to identify a click-event according to the operating states and the residence time.

The present invention provides a displacement estimation method including the steps of: acquiring an image frame and determining a quality threshold according to a sampling parameter; calculating a quality parameter of the image frame; and comparing the quality parameter and the quality threshold to determine whether to post-process the image frame. In the displacement estimation method of the present invention, the quality threshold can be adjusted dynamically so as to reduce the possibility of outputting error displacement. The present invention further provides a displacement estimation device.

An interactive pointing device capable of switching capture ranges includes an image capturing element and a processing unit. The image capturing element operates in a first capture range or a second capture range. The image capturing element is used for capturing a light source, and outputting an image signal. When a distance from the interactive pointing device to the light source is smaller than a reference value, the processing unit controls the image capturing element to detect the light source with the first capture range, and the processing unit converts the image signal into a first coordinate data. When the distance is greater than the reference value, the processing unit controls the image capturing element to detect the light source with the second capture range, and the processing unit converts the image signal into a second coordinate data.

The image capturing element is used for capturing an optical signal, and outputting an image signal. Through the determination about the switching signal and the coordinate conversion of the image signal by an arithmetic unit, the interactive pointing device capable of switching capture ranges is enabled to be operable in hosts with different resolutions.

The present invention provides a distance measuring system including a light source, an image sensor and a control and processing unit. The light source projects a light section onto an object with a projection angle. The image sensor senses reflected light from the light section on the object. The control and processing unit controls the light source to project the light section with the projection angle and determines a window of interest of the image sensor according to the projection angle and a predetermined system parameter. A medical ventilator capable of early detecting and recognizing types of pneumonia, a gas recognition chip, and a method for recognizing gas thereof are disclosed. The gas recognition chip of the medical ventilator comprises a sensor array, a sensor interface circuit, a stochastic neural network chip, a memory and a microcontroller. The sensor array receives a plurality of multiple types of gases to produce odor signals corresponding to each type of gas. The sensor interface circuit analyzes the odor signals to produce gas pattern signals corresponding to each type of gas. The stochastic neural network chip amplifies the differences between the gas pattern signals and performs dimensional reduction on the gas pattern signals to aid the analysis. The memory stores training data. The microcontroller performs a mixed gas recognizing algorithm to early detect and recognize the type of the pneumonia according to the gas training data.
