An audio signal switching apparatus at least comprises an audio jack, a speaker jack, a detection circuit and a control circuit. The audio jack and the speaker jack are separately configured in a computer system. The detection circuit detects whether the computer system is turned on or turned off. The control circuit is connected to the detection circuit and electrically connects the audio jack to the speaker jack when the computer system is turned off.

Audio signal switching apparatus

An apparatus for adjusting system performance of computer is fabricated on a motherboard. The apparatus comprises a plurality of performance monitor means and a performance control chip. The performance monitor means are connected separately to bus lines which are applied to connect devices mounted on the motherboard, for monitoring the operating state of each device according to the flow rate of data transferred in the bus lines. The performance control chip is connected separately to the devices, for adjusting the operating rate of the devices responsive to the performance monitor means. The performance control chip is capable of ascertaining the operating rate of each device is busy or not, so as to increasing or decreasing the operating rate of the device.

Apparatus and method for real-time adjusting system performance of a computer

A method for suspending and resuming a computer system without being affected by an abnormal power failure. The relevant operating information and context of the related devices are stored in both a memory and a hard disk before the computer system enters into a sleep state. If a power failure occurs, relevant operating information of the system can still be fetched from the hard disk to restore the computer system to its original operating state even though the information saved in the memory is lost. Also, the computer system can self turn on and activate a &ldquo;wake on LAN&rdquo; function and a &ldquo;ring in wake up&rdquo; function when power resumes after a sudden power failure before entering into the soft-off state. Therefore, users and system administrator can wake up the computer system from a remote site in a very convenient way.

Method for suspending, resuming, and turning on a computer system without being affected by an abnormal power failure

A Central Processing Unit (CPU) socket having a circuit protection mechanism electrically couples a CPU to a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The heat sink fastener matches the supports positioned on two opposing sides of the main body for mounting the heat sink on the CPU socket tightly. The protection component protrudes the main body and covers the corresponding PCB trace under the supports to protect the PCB trace from damaged by the heat sink fastener as mounting or dismounting the heat sink on the CPU socket.

An insert signal generation circuit connected to a socket for generating an insert signal as a processor is inserted into a processor socket. The circuit includes an insert detection circuit connected to the socket for generating a detection signal as the processor is inserted in the processor socket. A Smith trigger is provided in the circuit to, responsive to the detection signal, generate a pulse signal. A flip-flop is provided in the circuit to, responsive to the pulse signal, to generate the insert signal.

Jumperless computer system

A structure of a printed circuit board with stacked daughter board. The structure has a motherboard and at least a daughter board. The motherboard has a first signal layer, a second signal layer, a first power layer, a first ground layer and isolation layers between every layer. The first signal layer and the second signal layer serve as surfaces of the motherboard and first contacts are formed on the first signal layer. The daughter board includes a third signal layer, a fourth signal layer, a second power layer, a second ground layer and isolation layers between every layer. The second power layer or the second ground layer serves as a surface of the daughter board and second contacts are formed on the surface. The daughter board is stacked on the motherboard and the second contacts are coupled with the first contacts.

An apparatus and a method of detecting the capacity of the standby power. First, the components that are supplied with working voltage from the standby power are switched to the main power by a switch circuit. Then a control unit activates a dummy-loading circuit, thereby a coupling a loading device to the standby power. A voltage monitoring circuit monitors variations of the standby power to judge the capacity of the standby power, by which the switch circuit decides whether the standby power is activated or not. When detecting the capacity of the standby power, a switch circuit is needed to prevent variations of the standby power from affecting the normal operation of the essential circuit, and the standby power is supplied as operating power.

Apparatus for detecting capacity of a standby power and method therefor

A memory module controlling system. The controlling system has a multiplexer, an automatic detector and a terminal device. The system has several slots with each slot having a signaling line to the automatic detector so that the presence or absence of a memory module in each slot can be determined. The automatic detector gathers all the signals from the slots and is able to relay a control signal to the multiplexer. The signal output terminal of each slot is coupled to the input terminals of the multiplexer, and the output terminal of the multiplexer is coupled to the terminal device. As soon as the multiplexer receives a control signal regarding the state of the memory slots from the automatic detector, one of the input terminals of the multiplexer automatically connects to its output terminal. Hence, the output signal from the last memory-plugged slot is connected to the terminal device, thereby forming a complete data and clock pulse transmission channel.

A system clock switch circuit for a computer main board sends a reset signal to the chipset from the clock generator or a additional reset signal generator as soon as the system clock frequency is changed by the CPU. In result, the computer main board restarts with a new system clock frequency after the reset signal is canceled to avoid the malfunctions caused by the non-synchronization between the system clock frequency and the clock frequencies of peripherals.

The invention provides a voltage regulating device for regulating the operating voltage of a CPU in a computer system. The voltage regulating device includes a voltage identification signal regulator and a voltage identification signal bridge. The voltage identification signal regulator is controlled by a controlling signal to output a voltage identification regulating signal to the voltage converter. In this case, the voltage converter outputs the operating voltage of the CPU according to the voltage identification regulating signal. Meanwhile, a voltage monitor is used to monitor the operating voltage. When the voltage identification signal regulator outputs the voltage identification regulating signal, a voltage identification signal bridge blocks a default voltage identification signal output from the voltage identification signal setting device.
