An electrical connector assembly includes an elongated connector body () formed from an insulative material, and a guiding member unitary with the connector body. The connector body includes a front face () adapted to face conductive elements () of a mating electronic component (). A plurality of contact terminals () is adapted to be disposed within the connector body, and extend from the front face for mating with the conductive elements. The guiding member includes a pair of axial guiding legs () transverse to the front face, the guiding legs spaced apart a distance for facilitating insertion of the electronic component along the guiding legs to mate the conductive elements to the terminals of the connector body. As compared with the prior art, the unity of the supporting frame and the connector body makes the manufacturing of the electrical connector assembly simplified, with reduced manufacturing time.

Electrical connector assembly with guiding member

A battery connector () for a disk-shaped battery having positive and negative electrodes includes an insulative housing () having surface mountable positive and negative terminals () received therein. The insulative housing defines a battery receiving cavity dimensioned to receive the disk-shaped battery. The negative terminal () includes a spring contact portion () extending from a base wall so as to be engagable with the negative electrode on a bottom surface of the battery when the battery is inserted in the battery connector. The positive terminal () includes a spring contact section () adapted to engage the positive electrode on an opposed upper surface of the battery when the battery is insertable within the battery connector, and a deflectable connection section () attached to the spring contact section so as to permit the spring contact section to be flexed outwardly thereby allowing release of the battery from the battery connector.

Battery connector

An electrical connector assembly comprises a hard disk (), an electrical connector () and a bracket () for receiving the hard disk () and the electrical connector () therein. The bracket () comprises a base portion (), a pair of sidewalls () extending upwardly from the base portion () a first recess () and a first elastic plate () partly receiving in the first recess (). Besides, the two sidewalls () define a pair of enveloping member () closing to each other. Each enveloping member () comprises a second recess () and a second elastic plate () engaging with the second recess (). When assembled, the second elastic plate () is partly received in the second recess ().

Electrical connector assembly

A battery holder () includes an insulative housing (), a positive contact () and a negative contact (). The housing defines a bottom wall () and a sidewall () extending from the bottom wall, which form a receiving room (). The housing further defines a spring wall (). The spring wall can elastically deform for positioning a battery or releasing a battery. A protecting wall () is defined around the spring wall, and a predetermined distance is formed between the protecting wall and the spring wall. While the spring wall is forced to deform, the protecting wall can stop the deforming process of the spring wall and thus can protect the spring wall from breakage.

A socket assembly ( ) includes a socket ( ) and a vacuum pickup cap ( ). The socket includes a base ( ), a cover ( ) movably assembled upon the base and an actuating rod ( ) assembled on both the base and the cover for driving the cover to move in relative to the base. The cover defines a through hole ( ) in a center thereof. The vacuum pickup cap includes a flexible bottom plate ( ) and a flexible film ( ). The flexible bottom plate has a sticky bottom surface ( ) adhered to an upper surface of the cover and covering the through hole of the cover. The flexible film has a sticky bottom surface ( ) adhered to the flexible bottom plate and a smooth upper surface ( ) adapted for being sucked by a vacuum pickup device.

A socket includes a base ( ), a number of terminals ( ) received in the base, a cover ( ) movably mounted upon the base, an actuator ( ) sandwiched between the cover and the base for driving the cover upon the base to move, and a guiding means ( ). The guiding means includes a pair of columnar guiding posts ( ) and a pair of guiding holes ( ) for receiving corresponding guiding posts. When the cover is in an open position, the guiding post is loosely received in the guiding hole and when the cover is in a close position, the guiding post is closely received in the guiding hole.

Socket having guiding means

An FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) connector includes a housing defining a central slot and conductive contacts having opposite branches retained in the housing on opposite sides of the central slot. A stuffer bar is received in the central slot and is movable between a withdrawn position and an engaged position. The stuffer bar has finger grips on opposite ends thereof for being gripped by fingers of a user to apply a driving force to move the stuffer bar with respect to the housing. The stuffer bar has a flat surface on which a flexible circuit is positioned whereby when the stuffer bar is moved to the engaged position, a normal force is applied by the flat surface of the stuffer bar to the flexible circuit for engaging a conductive pattern of the flexible circuit with the corresponding contacts. A recess is formed in a middle portion of the flat surface of the stuffer bar whereby the middle portion of the stuffer bar is free of normal force acting upon the flexible circuit. The total force acting upon the flexible circuit is divided into two components acting on opposite sides of the recess and located close to the finger grips thereby reducing moments induced by the driving force. Damage caused by undue deformation of the stuffer bar is thus alleviated.

A socket assembly ( ) includes a socket ( ) and a pick up device ( ) releasably mounted to the socket. The socket has a base ( ) and a cover ( ) slidably mounted on the base. The pick up device includes a cap ( ) and a film member ( ) adhered to the cap. The cap is releasably mounted to the cover of the socket and defines a pair of through slots ( ). The film member is adhered to the top face ( ) of the cap to cover the through slots for being manipulated by the vacuum suction device to position the CPU socket on a circuit board.

Pick up device used for and an electrical socket

A socket connector includes a base housing defining cells receiving and retaining conductive contact elements therein and a cover movably supported on a top face of the base housing. The base housing has a bottom face mounted to a circuit board and the contact elements have tails extending beyond the bottom face and electrically connected to the circuit board. The cover carries an electronic package having depending pin legs and defines passages through which the pin legs extend. The pin legs partially extend into the cells whereby when the cover is moved from an initial, non-engaged position to a final, engaged position, the pin legs are brought into contact with the contact elements to establish an electrical connection therebetween. A cavity is defined in the housing for receiving a tool to drive the movement of the cover with respect to the housing toward to the engaged position. A stuffer locker includes a stuffer body removably fit into the cavity and a stop flange abutting against an edge of the cover to secure the cover at the engaged position. The stuffer body forms raised ribs for interferentially engaging the cavity thereby firmly retaining the stuffer locker in the cavity.

A ZIF socket assembly used with a package ( ) comprises a ZIF socket ( ), an actuating tool ( ) and a protector ( ). The socket comprises a base ( ) and a sliding cover ( ).
