A method and system of discovering materials for use in carbon dioxide separation includes extracting references to chemical molecules from online sources. The extracted references are encoded into chemical formulas. Molecular properties are calculated from the encoded chemical formulas. Features are extracted from the chemical formulas. Molecular properties of predicted molecular structures are predicted through a machine learning engine. The predicted molecular properties are based on the calculated molecular properties and extracted features. Target properties for predicted molecular structures are defined. Synthesized molecular structures are generated. The synthesized molecular structures include predicted molecular properties satisfying the defined target properties.

Generating and validating optimized membranes for carbon dioxide separation in binary gas

A computer implemented method of modifying molecular structures constrained by a budget is provided. The computer implemented method includes receiving from a user a subset of molecules, where each molecule is represented as a generation path, and receiving from the user an allotted budget for modifying a selection of molecules from the subset of molecules. The computer implemented method further includes testing a first molecule, and reducing the allotted budget based on the resources expended to test the first molecule. The computer implemented method further includes testing a second molecule, and reducing the allotted budget based on the resources expended to test the second molecule. The computer implemented method further includes determining a remaining amount of the allotted budget, and testing additional molecules from the subset of molecules until the allotted budget is exhausted. The computer implemented method further includes presenting the tested molecules to the user.

Optimization of multiple molecules

An optical connector device is provided. The optical connector device includes a semiconductor package including a receptacle and a lid. The optical connector device also included an adapter attached to the lid of the semiconductor package, and a connector removably attached to the adapter. The adapter includes a convex part adapted to fit into an adapter opening of the lid, an adapter recess adapted to accommodate at least a portion of the connector, and a first retainer in the adapter recess to removably attach the connector to the adapter at a predetermined position. The connector includes an optical fiber array corresponding to the receptacle and extending in a vertical direction with respect to a plane of the semiconductor package, a second retainer used in conjunction with the first retainer, and a biasing member to bias a portion of the connector toward the semiconductor package.

A method for forming an embedded mirror structure is disclosed. The method includes preparing a structure that has a substrate and a waveguide layer on the substrate. The waveguide layer includes a core. Also, the waveguide has a top surface and a cavity side surface that defines a cavity opened at the top surface and aligned to the core. The method further includes coating metal particles on the cavity side surface inside the cavity of the waveguide layer to form a metal particle film on the cavity side surface.

A method for fabricating an optical waveguide crossing structure. The method includes preparing a plate structure including a crossing part array and a guiding part array, each crossing part of the crossing part array being arranged at a gap from a plurality of guiding parts of the guiding part array. The method further includes preparing a waveguide structure including a first waveguide core array, a second waveguide core array and a tank, the tank being formed by removing a crossing region of the first waveguide core array and the second waveguide core array. The method further includes injecting an underfill into the tank. The method further includes depositing the plate structure on the waveguide structure so that the crossing part array and the guiding part array are inserted in the tank. The method further includes curing the underfill.

Optical waveguide crossing structure

A method and system are provided for predicting chemical structures. The method includes receiving, at a user interface, intended structural feature values and intended chemical property values, as vectors. The method further includes constructing, by a hardware processor, a prediction model, wherein the prediction model predicts other structural feature values from the intended structural feature values and the intended chemical property values, and automatically configuring, by the hardware processor, at least one chemical structure candidate from the other structural feature vectors. The method additionally includes evaluating the at least one chemical structure candidate to determine structural feature values and chemical property values of the at least one chemical structure candidate and performing, by the hardware processor, machine learning of a chemical structure predicting system based on the evaluated structural feature values and the evaluated chemical property values of the at least one chemical structure candidate.

Scheme of new materials

A waveguide corner structure includes a plate on which mirrors are formed; and a waveguide member including waveguide cores and holes, each of the holes being drilled in a portion replacing an angular bent portion of corresponding waveguide cores. The plate is mounted on the waveguide member so that each of the mirrors is inserted in corresponding one of the holes for a change of a direction of a light beam at the portion of corresponding waveguide cores.

An optical interconnect structure includes a lens array and a waveguide substrate. The lens array has a dummy lens. The waveguide substrate has a dummy core, a dummy mirror corresponding to the dummy core, and an inspection opening for injecting inspection light into the dummy core to reach the dummy mirror. In the optical interconnect structure, the lens array is mounted on the waveguide substrate such that the dummy lens of the lens array is positioned on the dummy mirror by monitoring inspection light from the inspection opening.

Alignment mechanism of optical interconnect structure

A light coupling structure is provided that includes a diffractive grating coupler, a total internal reflection (TIR) mirror, and a polymer waveguide. The TIR mirror is formed within the polymer waveguide to direct light signals between the diffractive grating coupler and the polymer waveguide.
