A self-lock hinge is mounted between a cover and a base of an electronic device and has a resilient sleeve and a pintle. The resilient sleeve has a tubular body with a positioning protrusion formed on an inside wall thereof. The pintle has a rod. The rod is mounted rotatably through the tubular body and has a flat wall selectively abutting the positioning protrusion. When the cover is closed relative to the base, the flat wall of the rod abuts the positioning protrusion to lock the cover. Therefore, the cover is self-locked when closing.

Self-lock hinge

A hinge is mounted in an electronic device with a cover and a base. The hinge has a first pivoting assembly, a second pivoting assembly and a resilient unit. The first pivoting assembly has a resilient plug. The resilient plug is mounted between the second pivoting assembly and the resilient unit to provide friction and to keep the second pivoting assembly from departing from the first pivoting assembly. The friction is adjusted by changing the resilience of the resilient plug or the resilient unit, or by changing the thickness of the resilient plug. Therefore, preciseness of the size of other component is less required to reduce the manufacturing cost.

Hinge and an electronic device with the same

A dual-axis hinge, comprises a body, a pintle, a mounting leaf, a resilient element and a mounting bracket. The body is tubular and has two ends. The pintle is mounted inside and protrudes transversely from the body and has an upper end and a flange that protrudes radially out from the upper end. The mounting leaf is mounted rotatably around the pintle between the flange and the body and attaches to a cover of an electronic device. The resilient element is mounted around the pintle between the flange and the mounting leaf. The mounting bracket is connected rotatably to one end of the body and a base of an electronic device. With such an arrangement, the dual-axis hinge only has a few components in a simple structure and allows the cover to lift from the base and rotate horizontally relative to the base.

Dual-axis hinge

A hinge includes a first sleeve and a second sleeve pivotally engaged with the first sleeve. The first sleeve has an arcuate step formed on an outer surface thereof, a neck extending from an outer surface of the arcuate step, at least one indentation formed on the arcuate step and a first upright wall formed on an end of the indentation. The second sleeve has at least one projection formed on an inner surface thereof to correspond to and be selectively received in the at least one indentation of the first sleeve so as to provide a positioning effect to the second sleeve when the at least one projection is received in the at least one indentation and a second upright wall formed on an end of the projection of the second sleeve to correspond to the first upright wall such that the first upright wall abutting the second upright wall is able to prevent excessive pivotal movement of the second sleeve relative to the first sleeve.

Hinge assembly having limiting and positioning abilities

A hinge has a base, a first bracket, a second bracket and a vertical-angular-positioning assembly. The first bracket is mounted pivotally on the base. The second bracket is mounted pivotally on the base. The vertical-angular-positioning assembly is mounted on the base, positions the second bracket in specific angular positions relative to the base and has positioning rings and a sleeve. The sleeve is mounted on the base and prevents dust from accumulating in the sleeve. With the arrangement of the sleeve, the hinge is durable.

Hinge

A hinge for a portable device has a body, a spring, a slide and a shaft. The body has a cavity and multiple retaining tabs. The spring is mounted in the cavity in the body. The slide is mounted slidably in the cavity in the body, abuts the spring and has a positioning element. The shaft is mounted to the body, rotatably engages the slide and has a positioning element and an annular groove. The positioning element on the shaft rotatably engages the positioning element on the slide. The annular groove rotatably engages the retaining tabs on the body. The shaft is mounted to the body without additional fasteners such as C-shaped clasps so the hinge has a simple structure and a low cost.

Hinge for a portable device

The hinge with orthogonal pivot axes can be used with a cellular phone having a cover and a base and has a tilt hinge, an offset hinge and a turning hinge. The tilt, offset and turning hinges respectively comprise a rotating positioning element and a stationary positioning element. The rotating positioning elements of the tilt and offset hinges have protrusions corresponding to and simultaneously engaging detents in the stationary positioning element when the tilt and offset hinges are closed and opened. The rotating positioning element of the turning hinge has protruding limits formed on the rotating positioning element selectively abutting the positive stop on the stationary positioning element of the turning hinge when the turning hinge is rotated.

Hinge with orthogonal pivot axes

A pivot device has a pivot axle fastened on a cover of a lap top computer, a seat fastened on a chassis of the computer, and a first ring and a second ring respectively mounted around the pivot axle. The second ring and an elastic device are respectively mounted on the seat, and the second ring has two cutouts. Two lugs are respectively defined on the first ring and correspond to the cutouts. A nub is formed on an outer circumference of the first ring so that the nub presses against the elastic device. Hence, the cutouts are mated with the lugs by pushing so that the cover can be raised or lowered to the chassis and can be controlled to prevent colliding with the chassis.

Pivot device

A hinge has a pin, a rotating positioning element and a stationary positioning element. The rotating positioning element is mounted around the pin and has a first, second, third and fourth detent and a rear surface with an inner circular area and an outer circular area. The first and second detents are formed in the inner circular area. The third and fourth detents are formed in the outer circular area. Each detent has a centerline. The centerlines of the first and third detents coincide. The centerlines of the second and fourth detents coincide. The stationary positioning element is mounted around the pin and has a first protrusion and a second protrusion. The first protrusion is formed on the stationary positioning element and selectively engages the first and second detents. The second protrusion is formed on the stationary positioning element and selectively engages the third and fourth detents.

A hinge has a spacer assembly, a rotating device, a pivot shaft and a nut. The rotating device is mounted on a display screen, and the pivot shaft is mounted on a base. The present invention provides a convenience of the screen being foldable parallel to the base.

A hinge used for a mobile device includes a base mounted on a body of the mobile device. A bracket is rotatably mounted on the base by an upright pintle. A positioning washer is provided between the bracket and the base. A seat is mounted on the bracket, and a lateral pintle is rotatably installed on the seat and substantially perpendicular to the upright pintle. A monitor of the mobile device is installed on the lateral pintle. Whereby, the monitor can be raised while the lateral pintle is rotated about the seat, and can be turned left or right for adjusting a horizontal visual angle while the bracket is rotated about the upright pintle.

A hinge positioning apparatus for a foldable mobile telephone has a shaft, a set angle device and a biasing member. A washer is mounted on one end of the shaft. The set angle device has a stationary sleeve with a concave groove and a retractable sleeve with a convex ridge. The convex groove of stationary sleeve is rotatably attached to the concave ridge of the retractable surface. The biasing member is mounted around the shaft and mounted between the retractable sleeve and the washer. With such a hinge positioning apparatus, the hinge positioning apparatus can be used for an extended life without permanently deforming the biasing member inside the hinge positioning apparatus.

Hinge positioning apparatus for a foldable mobile telephone

A dual-directional hinge for a portable device with a body and a monitor such as a mobile phone, a notebook computer or a PDA is disclosed. The hinge is composed of a first supporting member, a second supporting member, a seat, a vertical pin and a horizontal pintle. The first supporting member is mounted on the monitor and is rotatably mounted on the second supporting member by the vertical pin. The second supporting member and the seat are mounted rotatably on the body by the horizontal pintle. Thus, the monitor can be turned about the horizontal pintle to be raised from the body, and can be turned left or right about the vertical pin to change the horizontal viewing angle.

Dual-directional hinge

A hinge includes a pintle in turn extending through a first sheet, a rotating ring, a second sheet, a positioning ring, an elastic ring, and a washer, and fastened by a collar at a distal end of the pintle. The hinge can be rotated clockwise and counterclockwise and positioned at the angles of 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, &#x2212;90 degrees, and &#x2212;180 degrees.

An auto-released hinge for a mobile phone has a barrel with two open ends. The barrel has a first flange formed inside the barrel. A first spiral slot is defined in the first flange. Two stop slots are defined in the barrel and two second spiral slots are defined between the respective stop slots and the first flange. A pintle is rotatably received in the barrel, and has a first end extending out from the barrel and a second flange formed adjacent a second end of the pintle. A protrusion is formed at an outer periphery of the pintle and received in the first spiral slot. Two ridges are formed adjacent the second flange and respectively blocked in the stop slots. A resilient member is provided outside the second end of the pintle. A fastener is positioned in the barrel to fasten the pintle and the resilient member.
