The innovation relates to technologies by which the signal characteristics and, hence, environmental conditions of a transmitter can be concealed. In one aspect, a data transmitter comprises a transmitter and a changer, wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit a signal, wherein at least one signal parameter of the signal depends on at least one environmental parameter in an environment of the data transmitter, wherein the changer is configured to change the at least one signal parameter of the signal or a parameter on which the at least one signal parameter of the signal depends, in order to conceal the at least one environmental parameter.

Concealment of environmental influences on the transmitting parameters

A method improves antenna matching for a node, in particular a sensor apparatus and/or actuator apparatus, of a communications network. The node is capable of radio communication and has a radio module equipped with an antenna and a transmit path and/or receive path for radio signals to be emitted and/or received. The node has a power supply apparatus, which is preferably energy self-sufficient, in particular a battery. The antenna has an impedance and in the receive situation and/or in the transmit situation in the case of adjustable matchings, preferably by use of adjustable matching networks, the signal to noise ratio associated with each matching is estimated, and a matching is selected from the different matchings for the receive mode and/or the transmit mode.

A method for transmitting data or sensor data by radio between a preferably fixed battery-operated node and base station in a communication system with bidirectional radio transmission, includes providing a base station communication module having a first frequency transmitter, and a node communication module having a first frequency transmitter and second frequency transmitter with lower frequency. The node communication module transmits data in the uplink to the base station communication module by splitting a radio telegram into data packets transmitted successively with temporal spacing. A method transmits data via radio between a node and a base station with bidirectional radio transmission-based operation. The base station has a communication module with a first frequency transmitter. A method detects the surroundings of a node, in particular in the form of a sensor apparatus and/or actuator apparatus, of a communications network. Embodiments provide a method for generating a hopping pattern for transmitting a plurality of sub-data packets in a communication system. The method has a step of deriving a hopping pattern from a binary sequence, wherein an autocorrelation function of the binary sequence has autocorrelation side maximums with a predetermined maximum value. The method further has a step of determining a maximum sub-data packet length for the plurality of sub-data packets in dependence on a total emission duration of the plurality of sub-data packets indicated by the hopping pattern, and a minimum value of a difference sequence of a sorted difference number series derived from the binary sequence.

Unipolar binary sequences with improved non-periodic correlation behavior for unsynchronized TSMA systems

A software defined radio type radio receiver is used in an environment that is self-sufficient in energy. The radio receiver has a receiving device, which receives the data in the form of a data packet or a portion thereof or a data stream at a certain data rate, and provides the data for further data processing. Wherein in an operating mode, the data is diverted at the receiving device and supplied to a microcontroller at a sampling rate which preferably can be defined. The microcontroller decimates the data by selecting a subset from the set of samples, and the microcontroller buffers in a memory and provides for further processing the decimated data.

Radio receiver and communications system

A method operates a supply system having a measuring unit and a central unit. Information is transferred repeatedly at specific time intervals via a communication network by radio between the central unit and the measuring unit. The measuring unit or the central unit receives the information and then generates a receipt confirmation, which it transmits to the central unit or the measuring unit respectively. The central unit or the measuring unit, after transmitting the information, opens a receive window of a certain time length for receiving the receipt confirmation. As a result of a first trigger event, the time intervals between the repeat transmissions of the information are shortened, and/or an additional receive window for receiving the receipt confirmation is opened, and as a result of a second trigger event, the time intervals between the repeat transmissions are lengthened, and/or no additional receive windows are opened.

A method and a device are used during battery operation of a smart metering meter equipped with a consumption sensor and a transmit clock generator for a radio module for transmitting consumption data packets, in the event of a decreased residual capacity of the battery, to determine if the data packets can be transmitted as previously with the residual capacity over the residual time period until a scheduled battery exchange at the end of a specified operating time period. If not, the transmit power, for example, of the data packets is reduced and/or their transmit clock is extended over the residual period. This determination, along with a control specification, are preferably performed in a concentrator and are transmitted to the meter by using bidirectionally operating radio modules so that computer capacities required therefor need not be retained in each individual meter of a supply area.

Method and device for operating a battery-operated smart metering meter

A method distributes data in a communication system which has a group of metering units arranged in each case to measure the consumption of a delivered supply medium, and a data collector. Each metering unit has a communication module, a frequency reference device, and a processor to operate the metering unit on the basis of the data. The metering units and the data collector are arranged in a communication network, wherein the data are transmitted by the data collector via the communication system within a session, common to the group of metering unit. A synchronization sequence common to the metering units is transmitted within the common session and the synchronization sequence is dimensioned in such a way that the frequency reference device of each metering unit in the group of metering units is synchronized with the transmitted synchronization sequence within a session.
