The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions and their use in oral hygiene. More particularly, the compositions comprise one or more flavonoids, such as naringin and neohesperidine and polylysine and/or caprylic acid and/or a zinc salt. Such compositions may be in the form of, for example, a solution, gel, spray, chewing gum or paste suitable for use in the oral cavity. The composition may be used in reducing bacterial numbers on teeth, gums or other surfaces in the oral cavity.

Bioflavonoid compositions and their use

The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions and their use for preventing, eradicating or ameliorating infections. More particularly, the compositions comprise one or more flavonoids, such as naringin and neohesperidin and caprylic acid and/or polylysine. Such compositions can, for example, be employed for reducing or eliminating bacteria, fungi and other parasites from water, such as water intended for drinking or from food.

Bioflavonoid compositions and their use for water purification and food preservation

Polymeric materials are described which have a bioflavonoid coating, the bioflavonoid content of the coating comprising at least naringin and neohesperidin. The use of such coated polymeric materials is also described as well as the process for making the coated polymeric materials.

Bioflavonoid coated materials

A composition having a pH in the range of from 3 to 8.5, comprising: (a) in the range of from 0.1% to &#x3c;10% w/w (based on the total weight of the composition) of a stock solution comprising a mixture of bioflavonoids and fruit acids or salts thereof; (b) sodium hyaluronate; and (c) water; and, optionally, (d) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier therefor; wherein the sodium hyaluronate has an average molecular weight of between 800,000 and 4,000,000.

Combinations for oral compositions, their preparation and use

The present invention relates to compositions and methods for eye and contact lens care. More particularly, the invention relates to ophthalmic compositions which contain at least one bioflavonoid component for ocular care, preserving ophthalmic solutions and/or disinfecting contact lenses.

There is described a method of sterilizing surfaces using flavonoids, for example mixtures containing inter alia naringin and neohesperidin, by misting.

Also described are compositions for feeding to an animal and for use in the methods.
