A removable cartridge for use with a liquid diffusion device is provided. The removable cartridge includes a cartridge housing defining an internal housing cavity, partially filled with a liquid to be diffused, and a diffusion head positioned within the internal housing cavity with a venturi device for generating diffused liquid from the liquid contained in the internal housing cavity. The diffusion head defines at least a portion of a gas supply conduit that extends from a bottom end of the removable cartridge to the venturi device through the liquid to be diffused to enable the venturi device to be supplied with pressurized gas from an external source via the bottom end of the removable cartridge.

A pump device is provided including: a unitary pump frame; an electromagnet arrangement that includes a winding wrapped around a portion of the unitary pump frame; a diaphragm assembly coupled to the unitary pump frame, which includes a movable diaphragm and a manifold; and a pump arm having a proximal end coupled to the unitary pump frame and a distal end supporting a permanent magnet to interact with the electromagnet arrangement to cause the pump arm to swing back and forth during operation to displace the diaphragm and discharge an air stream from the pump device. Related methods of manufacture are also provided.

A system is provided for treating a trash chute with an aerosolized compound. The system includes an aerosol discharge unit mounted to a door frame of a fire door arrangement of the trash chute with an aerosol outlet thereof in fluid communication with the trash passageway; a liquid diffusion appliance mounted remotely from the trash chute and the fire door arrangement, the liquid diffusion appliance including a compound in liquid form to be aerosolized and including a control system for operating the liquid diffusion appliance to generate the aerosolized compound from the liquid compound and to discharge the aerosolized compound from an appliance outlet of the liquid diffusion appliance; and a conduit coupling the appliance outlet of the liquid diffusion appliance with the aerosol outlet of the discharge unit, the conduit defining an aerosol passageway through which the aerosolized compound travels to be discharged into the trash chute.
