A pad attachment for a paint roller assembly including a pad holder affixed to a roller type paint applicator. The pad holder retains a paint trimming and smoothing material in a form of a fabric or foam. The material retained by the holder is positioned to smooth or otherwise treat the paint being applied by the roller during a painting application. In addition, the material may function to trim or 'cut in' at the interface of a surface adjacent the surface being painted. In an alternative embodiment, the invention may be part of a paint roller assembly having an adjustable splatter shield. The pad holder is integrally formed with the shield and is removably retractable and extensible along with the shield.

A paint tool includes a base with at least two sides and a handle secured thereto. An edging device is pivotally and removably mounted on the tool and includes a plate with a slot. At least one position is defined in the slot by an enlargement of the width of the slot. First and second wheels are rotatably mounted in tandem on the plate and the plate may be secured to either side of the base and will pivot upon securement to allow an edge to be painted on a surface.

Paint sprayer

The sprayer comprises two main functioning units; namely, a flow control system incorporated in the chemical concentrate jar top closure and a spray nozzle integral with the closure for dispensing dilute solutions of fertilizer, pesticides and the like as supplied by the flow control system. The control system comprises an ejector for drawing concentrate from the reservoir jar and a pair of coaxial, independently rotatable valve elements, one, acting with fixed structure, serving to turn the water supply off or direct the water into the chemical concentrate jar or through the unit to the spray nozzle, the other, operating in conjunction with the first valve element, controlling by means of flow resistance in a labyrinth, desirably in conjunction with an orifice metering disc, proportionate feed from the jar of chemical concentrate to the main water stream. Proportionate feed may be accomplished without the flow resistance control by appropriate dimensioning of the ejector. The ejector is itself novel in that it is made of plastic material by injection with a single mold having a single core forming the entire length of the ejector passageway. The spray nozzle includes an adjustable, cam-controlled baffle for selectively achieving a downwardly or upwardly directed spread spray pattern or a jet stream.

Plant fertilizer in granular form is supplied as replaceable cartridges and gradually dissolved within the cartridge shell by a side branch of the main stream of water which flows straight through the base of the feeder with minimum pressure loss. The cartridge container is a frustoconical disposable shell the base closure of which has a central orifice for metering inflowing water and peripheral fertilizer solution outlet holes. A port in the top of the main channel directs the side branch flow against the cartridge closure at the metering orifice to flow into the body of fertilizer and a second port receives solution from outlet apertures in the closure to rejoin the main stream at an enlarged portion of the main channel to provide suction. A dome screwed into sealed engagement on the top of the feeder encloses the cartridge. A safety valve is provided at the top of the dome to permit trapped air to escape through a central aperture.

Cartridge feeder for soluble fertilizer

A slide mount for removably supporting a citizen'band (CB) radio or similar electronic equipment in a vehicle, or the like, or any other mounting surface, including a base attached to the vehicle and a slide attached to the CB radio and a quick disconnect structure for mechanically engaging the slide with the base and releasably latching the slide in position and also providing quick disconnect pin and socket-type connections between antenna circuits and electrical circuits so that the CB radio may be easily installed and removed with the installation and removal automatically coupling all of the components to the radio so that it may be operated immediately upon completion of the slide connection. A longitudinally movable release plate is provided on the slide to release a spring tab or lug engaged with a detent on the base so that outward longitudinal force exerted on the release plate at the end of the slide facing the operator of the radio will readily release the slide for removing the radio and slide assembly. The pin and socket contact assemblies are arranged so that the antenna and other pin and socket connections are completed prior to the completion of the power and ground pins and sockets in order to prevent any possibility of damage to the equipment resulting from being placed under power with either the antenna or speaker circuits disconnected. The structural interconnection between the slide and base is such that the slide can be readily aligned with the base and a tapered structure is provided so that when the slide is completely installed, very little play exists between the slide and base.
