An apparatus for supporting and positioning a patient's leg during a surgical procedure includes a substantially rigid, non-linear support structure comprising a distal segment and a proximal segment. The apparatus further includes a proximal locking swivel joint and an actuation handle. The proximal locking swivel joint is coupled to the proximal segment of the support structure and holds the support structure in a plurality of positions. The actuation handle is connected to the distal segment of the support structure and coupled to the proximal locking swivel joint. Activation of the actuation handle results in release of the proximal locking swivel joint, thereby allowing repositioning of the support structure into a plurality of positions.

A limb support apparatus and corresponding methods for making same are disclosed. The limb support can comprise a shell for supporting a patient's limb during treatment, examination, and/or recovery. The shell can comprise at least one padding configured to protect the patient's limb. The padding can be secured to the shell using one or more mounting structures included in the padding. The mounting structures are configured such that they are received by corresponding mounting openings and/or features in the shell. An interference fit between the mounting structures and mounting openings/features secures the padding against the shell, thereby preventing the padding from inadvertently moving or sliding on the shell. Embodiments disclosed herein eliminate the need for traditionally used fasteners that are often difficult to clean and sterilize, thereby improving the quality of patient care and facilitating cleaning of patient and/or operating rooms.

Method and apparatus for securing a patient's limb

An apparatus for attaching a surgical accessory to a mounting rail comprises a clamp body, a locking plate component, and a clamp release mechanism. The clamp body includes at least one clamp jaw component and one or more mounting mechanisms for attaching a mount blade of a surgical accessory to the clamp body. The locking plate component is coupled to the clamp body in a manner that a rail channel is formed between the clamp jaw component and the locking plate component. The clamp release mechanism includes an actuator. The clamp release mechanism moves to allow a mounting rail to enter or exit the rail channel in response to (a) a force applied to the locking plate component or (b) activation of the actuator.

Clamp apparatus for attaching a surgical accessory to a mounting rail

In one aspect, an apparatus for supporting the head and neck of a user for airway management is disclosed, which comprises a top surface including at least one head-receiving portion configured and dimensioned for receiving and supporting a user's head, and at least one recess neck opening for supporting a user's neck when the user's head is received in the head-receiving portion. The apparatus further includes at least one chin support protruding above the top surface and configured for facilitating placing the user in a sniff position when the user's head is received in the head-receiving portion. The chin support can include a top surface segment and a lateral surface segment, where at least a portion of the lateral surface segment of the chin support extends from the top surface segment thereof to the at least one recess neck opening.
