A one-piece shank assembly is disclosed which is comprised of a flat leaf spring having an arcuate intermediate portion, a lower end portion adapted to mount a ground working tool, and an upper end portion which is reversed upon itself to thereby form a pivot sleeve at the forward end of the shank. The leaf spring is brought rearwardly in contiguous and overlying relation to the intermediate portion and its terminal portion is then again reversed upon itself upwardly, forwardly, and then downwardly to form a sleeve bearing for the lower end of a pressure rod. Also disclosed is a simplified mounting assembly for the shank comprised of a pair of rearwardly facing and pivotally connected U-shaped channel members, portions of which are cut away to receive and clamp the frame bar of a ground-working machine in an effective and efficient manner.

Leaf spring shank assembly

This invention relates to an improved soil contact tool comprised of a narrow uniform width ground engaging section and a triangular moldboard section extending therefrom. The moldboard section has a center to direct soil away from the mold board with sides being generally concave to insure transverse movement of the soil to create ridges on either side of the ground working tool.

This invention relates to a cultivating shank assembly in which a mounting frame is comprised of a mounting frame portion and a tool shank support portion pivoted thereon. The mounting frame portion and the tool support portion are formed of plates which are held together by suitable transversely extending plates which support the mounting frame on a cultivating tool bar and mount the tool shank respectively. A compression spring for the mounting assembly is connected between the tool shank portion and the mounting frame portion of the mounting frame and is guided between inner and outer cylindrical spring retainers which are pivoted respectively on the tool shank support portion and the mounting frame portion to prevent the compression spring from buckling and to guide the same such that the compressive force will always be applied along the extent of the spring. Suitable apertures in the mounting frame portion provide a limit stop to define the pitch adjustment of the tool shank and provide preload adjustment for the compression spring.

Cultivator tool shank assembly

This invention relates to a transport wheel assembly for a tillage type agricultural implement having at least two pairs of ground support wheels mounted on the frame section of the implement. Each wheel of the pair is journaled in a separate axle mounted on the end of a pivot arm with the pivot arms being mounted in spaced shafts journaled on the implement frame. The shafts are separated longitudinally of the implement frame or across the width of the same to space the wheels longitudinally apart, and they are also separated in a fore and aft direction of the implement frame. The shafts of each pair are tied together through a hydraulic actuator which acts as a linkage to transmit motion from one wheel to the other when the implement traverses uneven terrain. The actuator in one position pivots the wheels in close proximity in the fore and aft direction for stability in turns and raising the implement and hence the ground working tools above ground level for transport. In the opposite position of the actuator, the implement frame is lowered for working and the wheels are separated in the fore and aft direction to a wide extent for greater stability in traversing uneven terrain. In the transport position, a strap ties the actuator to a fixed position for safety purposes. Stops on the frame limit movement of the transport wheels for stability purposes. On wing sections of the implement, the transport wheel assembly includes an adjustment of the wheel position for depth adjustment of the tools.
