An inverter with an amplitude pulse width (APW) architecture that generates a single phase AC (Alternating Current) power waveform is disclosed. The inverter generates a multi-level stepped voltage waveform, each step of the multi-level stepped waveform having a modulated width of a selected voltage. The inverter further comprises a soft fuse protection system. This disclosure also relates to a personal power plant system using said inverter and a method to generate an AC power sine wave with reduced harmonic distortion.

An inverter with an amplitude pulse width (APW) architecture that generates a single phase AC (Alternating Current) power waveform is disclosed. The inverter generates a multi-level stepped voltage waveform, each step of the multi-level stepped waveform having a modulated width of a selected voltage. This disclosure also relates to a personal power plant system using said inverter and a method to generate an AC power sine wave with reduced harmonic distortion.

A personal power plant stores energy at the load site from renewable sources and through connection with a utility, enabling the personal power plant to support real time or near real time system load balancing and to eliminate net-metering. The personal power plant determines a charging profile based on predicted energy usage for a next 24-hour period. The personal power plant can provide an indication of the excess amount of electrical energy stored, but not needed for the next 24-hour period. When times of high demand are anticipated, the utility can reallocate energy to other users which it would otherwise provide to participating personal power plants aggregating the excess energy from a plurality of personal power plants. At such times, inverse power generation occurs as the personal power plants do not draw power from the grid which, in aggregation, reduces grid load.

Systems and methods provide intelligent battery charging and balancing. Energy deficits can be forecasted based on historical data and forecasted energy generation. The deficits can be used to determine charging currents over a period of time, and battery cassettes can be charged according to the charging currents to compensate for the forecasted energy deficit. The states of charge of the battery cassettes can be periodically rebalanced. The battery cassettes can be coupled in series and charged and balanced while providing output to a load.

Currently vehicles typically include an engine computer that outputs diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) that are indicative of some fault condition in a vehicle. DTCs can tell a specific problem with a particular part such as that a cylinder in an engine is misfiring, but do not provide any indication as to the cause of the problem and do not propose any solutions for solving the problem. This disclosure advantageously describes systems that can analyze DTCs and other telematics data using crowdsourcing principles to recommend vehicle maintenance and other solutions.

Embodiments provide systems and methods that find the quickest route between two locations on a graph with multi-edge constraints in a time and space efficient manner. In some embodiments, Dijkstra's algorithm is split into separate universes when a) a multiple-edge constraint is reached, and b) along each edge of a multi-edge constraint. In some embodiments, the split is performed for the purpose of finding the quickest (i.e. lowest weighted) route to the intersect ion(s) at the end of the constraints. These universes, in some embodiments, are merged or discarded when the intersection at the end of the constraint is found. Using these systems and methods, in some embodiments, the shortest path between two locations of a multi-edge constrained road network can be efficiently determined.
