Disclosed are rectal and vaginal suppository formulations comprising calcitonin and caprylic acid monoglyceride in a pharmaceutically acceptable suppository vehicle.

Calcitonin suppository formulations

An aqueous vehicle containing about 80% polyethylene glycol 400 or polyethylene glycol 300 imparts long-acting growth hormone release inhibiting activity to somatostatin or linear somatostatin.

Long acting somatostatin composition

Stable, non-aqueous parenteral dosage forms of benzodiazepine compounds comprise from about 10% to about 65% polyethylene glycol, from about 35% to about 90% propylene glycol, from 0% to about 10% benzyl alcohol, and 1 mg. to 15 mg. of benzodiazepine compound per ml.
