A gas storage assembly that has an enclosure within which are disposed at least about 100 inorganic tubules are present for each cubic micron of volume of the enclosure. The assembly has a storage capacity of at least 20 grams of hydrogen per liter of volume of the enclosure.

Storage assembly

An assembly for shielding an implanted medical device from the effects of high-frequency radiation and for emitting magnetic resonance signals during magnetic resonance imaging. The assembly includes an implanted medical device and a magnetic shield comprised of nanomagnetic material disposed between the medical device and the high-frequency radiation. In one embodiment, the magnetic resonance signals are detected by a receiver, which is thus able to locate the implanted medical device within a biological organism.

Magnetic resonance imaging coated assembly

A shielded medical device implanted in a biological organism. The device has a magnetic shield, and the magnetic shield contains a layer of nanomagnetic material; such layer has a morphological density of at least 98 percent; and it is bonded to the medical device by means of an interlayer with a thickness of less than about 10 microns. The nanomagnetic material in such layer has a saturation magnetization of from about 1 to about 36,000 Gauss, a coercive force of from about 0.01 to about 5,000 Oersteds, a relative magnetic permeability of from about 1 to about 500,000, and an average particle size of less than about 100 nanometers.

Magnetically shielded assembly

A magnetically shielded assembly with a medical device located near biological tissue. The assembly contains a device for limiting the amount of current flowing through the biological tissue, and a magnetic shield. The magnetic shield is located over at least a portion of the medical device, and it contains nanomagnetic material.

A shielded medical device implanted in a biological organism. The device has a magnetic shield, and the magnetic shield contains a layer of nanomagnetic material; such layer has a morphological density of at least 98 percent. The nanomagnetic material in such layer has a saturation magnetization of from about 1 to about 36,000 Gauss, a coercive force of from about 0.01 to about 5,000 Oersteds, a a relative magnetic permeability of from about 1 to about 500,000, and an average particle size of less than about 100 nanometers.

A guided rotor compressor that contains at least three hollow rollers, each of which has a sheath surrounding a core. The coefficient of friction of the sheath and the core is from about 0.01 to about 0.15, but the coefficient of friction of the core is at least 1.2 times as great as the coefficient of friction of the sheath. The core has a cross-sectional area that is at least about 1.5 times as great as the cross-sectional area of the said sheath. Each of the core and the sheath has a coefficient of thermal expansion of from about 1&#xd7;10to about 20&#xd7;10. Each of the core and the sheath has a a notch Izod impact strength of from about 50 Joule-meters to about 100 Joule-meters.

Compressor assembly

An implantable device that contains a power source, a device for producing electrical signals, and a conductor assembly for communicating the electrical signals to biological matter. The conductor assembly contains of a conductor that is capable of being flexed at least about 15 degrees and that has a resistivity at 20 degrees Centigrade of from about 1 to about 100 micro ohm-centimeters. The conductor assembly also contains a magnetic shield located above the flexible conductor; the magnetic shield contains an antithrombogenic composition. The magnetic shield also contains a magnetic shielding material that has a magnetic shielding factor of at least about 0.5.

Implantable shielded medical device

An assembly for protecting biological tissue from the effects of heating. The assembly contains a conductor in contact with the biological tissue and forming an electrical circuit comprising the biological tissue. The assembly contains a device for modifying the impedance of the electrical circuit such that, at a frequency of from about 10 megahertz to about 150 megahertz, such impedance is at least about 0.5 ohms per centimeter of length of said conductor. The assembly also contains a device for limiting the flow of current through the biological tissue such that, when the assembly is exposed to an alternating current electromagnetic field at a frequency of 64 megahertz and a magnetic field strength of 1.5 Tesla for 15 minutes, the temperature of the biological tissue does not exceed 42 degrees Celsius.

Protective assembly

A shielded substrate assembly that contains a magnetic shield with a layer of magnetic shielding material; the magnetic shield has a magnetic shielding factor of at least about 0.5. The magnetic shield contains nanomagnetic material nanomagnetic material with a mass density of at least about 0.01 grams per cubic centimeter, a saturation magnetization of from about 1 to about 36,000 Gauss, a coercive force of from about 0.01 to about 5,000 Oersteds, a relative magnetic permeability of from about 1 to about 500,000, and an average particle size of less than about 100 nanometers. The nanomagnetic material contains magnetic material with a coherence length of from about 0.1 to about 100 nanometers.

Nanomagnetically shielded substrate

A magnetically shielded substrate assembly includes a substrate and, disposed over the substrate, a magnetic shield with a magnetic shielding factor of at least about 0.5. The magnetic shield has a film of nanomagnetic material containing at least about 40 weight percent of nomagnetic material with a mass density of at least about 0.01 grams per cubic centimeter, a saturization magnetization of from about 1 to about 36,000 Gauss, a coercive force of from about 0.01 to about 5,000 Oersteds, a relative magnetic permeability of from about 1 to about 500,000, and an average particle size of less than about 100 nanometers. This film of nanomagnetic material has a squareness of from about 0.5 to about 1.0.

Nanomagnetic composition

A system for compressing gas comprised of a liquid lubricated rotary positive displacement compressor system. The system contains a rotary positive displacement compressor, a device for separating a mixture of gas and liquid to produce a separated liquid connected to the compressor, a device for cooling the separated liquid to produce a cooled separated liquid, and a device for feeding the cooled separated liquid into the compressor.

Compressor and dehydrator system

A rotary device containing a housing having a curved inner surface with a profile equidistant form a trochoidal curve, an eccentric mounted on a shaft disposed within the housing, a rotor mounted on the eccentric shaft which contains at least three sides, a partial bore located at the intersection of adjacent sides, and at least three rollers rotatably mounted within the partial bores of the roller. The rotor is comprised of a front face, a back face, a first side, a second side, and a third side. On each front and back face, between adjacent sides, an opening is formed. The openings are on opposing front and back faces are offset from a centerline of the rotary device.

A multistage compressor assembly containing at least two guided rotor compressor stages, each of which contains an eccentric mounted on a shaft located within a housing, a rotor mounted on the eccentric shaft which contains at least three intersecting faces, a partial bore located at the intersection of adjacent faces, and at least three rollers rotatably mounted within the partial bores of the rotor.
