A system and method for data transmission and power supply capability over an audio jack for mobile devices are disclosed. A particular embodiment includes: a peripheral device including an energy storage component, a microphone using a microphone bias voltage, and a select switch configured to provide a first switch position wherein charging of the energy storage component using the microphone bias voltage via the microphone conductor is enabled, the select switch being configured provide a second switch position wherein charging of the energy storage component using the microphone bias voltage via the microphone conductor is disabled; and a mobile device and an application (app) executable in the mobile device to produce a switching tone on the audio signal conductor of the audio jack, the switching tone causing the select switch to transition to the first switch position or the second switch position.

An electronic device may include a motor to operate at a first frequency during a first time period and to operate at a second frequency during a second time period, and an accelerometer to obtain first data relating to operation of the motor at the first frequency and to obtain second data relating to operation of the motor at the second frequency. The electronic device may also include a processor to determine a desired resonant frequency of the motor based on the first data and the second data.

Method and apparatus to change resonance frequency of an electronic device

Systems and methods of controlling output volume in mobile devices may include an apparatus having logic to detect a limited power delivery condition of a battery of a mobile platform. The logic may also transmit a hardware alert to an audio controller of the mobile platform in response to the limited power delivery condition, wherein the hardware alert is to instruct the audio controller to conduct a speaker volume reduction to an audible level. In one example, the logic enables the use of one or more high power speakers such as stereo integrated hands free speakers in the mobile device.
