A connector consisting of a body, a first slot, a second slot, a first terminal, and a second terminal is disclosed. The first slot is provided on the body to receive a first printed circuit board (PCB). The second slot is provided on the body to receive a second PCB. The first slot and the second slot are separate and distinct slots. When the first PCB and the second PCB are received in the first slot and the second slot, respectively, the first terminal electrically connects the first PCB and the second PCB, and the second terminal connects to only the second PCB. Providing the first slot on the connector allows adding expansion cards, control cards, and the like to enhance functionality of computing systems.

A latching apparatus has a first component and a second component. The first component is made of a first material and includes a distal end, a proximal end, and an indention between the distal end the proximal end. The distal end includes a mating tab, whereas the proximal end includes a flange member for fixing the first component to a lid of a housing. The second component is made of a second material and is coupled to the mating tab. The second component includes a receiving element for engaging with a securing element of the housing. The latching element includes a pressing region formed in one of the first component and the second component between the indention and the receiving element. The first material has a higher flexibility that the second material.

An optical transceiver for connection between an optical socket and an electrical socket is disclosed. The optical transceiver includes an electrical connector and an optical connector. The optical transceiver has an electronics housing holding the electrical and optical connectors in relative position to each other allowing the simultaneous connection to an electrical socket and an optical socket. The electrical and optical connectors may be moved between an extended position and a retracted position relative to the electronics housing when being engaged or disengaged with respective electrical and optical sockets.

Dual connector carrier with simultaneous locking mechanism

A connector assembly for connecting an upper circuit board to a lower circuit board is disclosed. The upper circuit board includes a series of fastener holes for a fastening device allowing attachment to the lower circuit board. The connector assembly has a support bracket with access holes aligned with the holes of the upper circuit board. The support bracket is configurable to be positioned over the upper circuit board. The connector assembly has a moveable cover bracket having a series of access holes. The cover bracket is suspended between the support bracket and the cover bracket. The cover bracket is moveable between an open position aligning the access holes with the access holes of the support bracket, and a closed position. In the closed position, the cover bracket blocks access between the access holes of the support bracket and the holes of the upper circuit board.

Easy release board to board connector

A lock mechanism within a slot of a computer chassis is disclosed. The lock mechanism includes a gear wheel, a gear rack body, a push rod latch, a push rod body, and a chassis latch. The gear wheel, the gear rack body, the push rod latch, the push rod body, and the chassis latch cooperate to restrict a flap in the slot from opening when the flap is in the closed position, and the chassis latch is engaged with a cutout on the push rod body.

A network device comprising a chassis, a plurality of fiber optic adapters, a plurality of arrangements of interior fiber optic cables, and a plurality of stacked cable management trays. The chassis includes a front panel with a plurality of front fiber optic adapter openings. The chassis defines an interior space. The plurality of front fiber optic adapters is disposed in the front fiber optic adapter openings. The plurality of arrangements of interior fiber optic cables is disposed within the interior space. A first end of each interior fiber optic cable is directly connected to a corresponding one of the plurality of front fiber optic adapters. The plurality of stacked cable management trays each support one of the plurality of arrangements of interior fiber optic cables. The plurality of stacked cable management trays is configured to route a second end of each interior fiber optic cable to a corresponding side fiber optic adapter.

A locking mechanism for a computing device controls movement of a removable module within a computer chassis. The locking mechanism comprises a lock pin, a head, and a spring stopper. The lock pin includes an elongated shaft and a head. The spring stopper is disposed on the elongated shaft. The spring is disposed about the elongated shaft such that the spring extends from the spring stopper toward an end of the elongated shaft. As the lock pin moves along a longitudinal axis of the elongated shaft from a first position to a second position, the spring is configured to compress between the spring stopper and a fixed bracket in the computer chassis. The opposite second end extends through a hole in the removable module, thereby preventing the removable module from being removed from the computer chassis.

Method and device for controlling removal of a module with electrical connectors from a computer chassis

Systems and methods include a chassis having a slot configured to receive a module with a flap are disclosed. The flap is configured to be in at least a first position and a second position. The system further includes a push rod configured to translate within the slot. The push rod is configured in a first position to allow the flap to move to the first flap position, and in a second position to move the flap into the second flap position. The system further includes a latch configured to translate within the slot and engage the push rod to travel in a first direction with the push rod, from the first push rod position to the second push rod position. The latch is also configured to withdraw the push rod from the second push rod position in a second direction, opposite from the first direction.

Systems and methods for operating a flap

A protective cover is provided in which connectors on a distal end of a motherboard are protected with the protective cover in a closed configuration. Sliding the motherboard into position within a chassis with the protective cover in the closed configuration automatically causes the protective cover to assume an open configuration, thereby exposing the connectors. Withdrawing the motherboard from the chassis results in automatically closing the protective cover through the operation of biasing elements (e.g., springs) that bias the protective cover into a normally closed configuration.

Automatic opening and closing protection device

A computer chassis for accepting a front module and a rear module without a midplane board is disclosed. A middle bracket positioned within the chassis facilitates alignment of connectors of the front module and rear module, which can be directly connected together by applying sufficient force. The rear module can be inserted into the chassis and can automatically lock in place, thereby allowing force applied from the front module to be used to connect the connectors of the front module and rear module together, rather than pressing the rear module out of the chassis. The rear module can further include elements to improve safety and structure. In some cases, supplemental locking mechanisms can be used to ensure the rear module cannot be removed until certain sub-modules (e.g., a power supply unit) has been removed.

Front and rear modular chassis alignment

The present disclosure provides an apparatus for a cooling fan in a computer system. The apparatus comprises a plurality of bars, a plurality of slats, a knob, and at least one pin. Each slat of the plurality of slats pivotably couples to at least one bar in the plurality of bars. The knob is located at an option on each of bar of a plurality of bars. Rotating movements of the knob adjust the apparatus between a plurality of positions. The at least one pin can be received at an opening in the cooling fan.

Adjustable cooling fan apparatus

A retention apparatus is provided for securing a cable into a receptacle of an electronic device. The retention apparatus includes a body with two distal ends. A buckle is located at one distal end while a housing is located at the opposite distal end. The buckle includes at least one tooth. The housing includes a receiver configured to secure the buckle and a handle portion. The receiver includes a securing element and guide. The securing element includes at least one notch to interconnect with the at least one tooth of the buckle.

Power cord retention device

The present disclosure provides a rail assembly for a computing device in a storage rack. The rail assembly can include a rail body, a rail member, and a locking ear. The rail body can engage with a front vertical portion of the storage rack and a rear vertical portion of the storage rack. The rail member can attach to the rail body, and include a slot extending horizontally along the rail member. This slot can slidably receive a plurality of pins disposed along a side surface of the computing device. The present disclosure also provides for a first locking ear to support a first orientation of the computing device and a second locking ear to support a second orientation of the computing device.

Rail assembly for storage rack

A coolant gas, multi-filter filtering unit, for use with servers and other electrical equipment that can be utilized as a retrofit device for existing servers or provided as OEM equipment with the server is described. A series of static centrifugal force filtering units are position upstream of a replaceable surface filter. The surface filter can be a HEPA filter, or alternatively include an absorbent layer or separate third filter of charcoal to remove VOCs.
