An imaging lens includes, in order from an object side, a first lens with a positive refractive power having a biconvex shape; an aperture stop having a predetermined aperture diameter; a second lens with a positive refractive power having a concave surface on the object side, at least one of the object-side surface and an image-plane-side surface of the second lens being aspherical; and a third lens with a negative refractive power having a concave surface on the object side and an aspherical surface with an inflection point in an effective-diameter area on the image-plane side, whereby aberrations can be effectively corrected, the total length of the lens system can be reduced to reduce the overall size, in particular the thickness, and a shutter can be readily accommodated.

Imaging lens

A zoom lens includes, in sequence from the object side: a first lens group with an overall negative refractive power; and a second lens group with an overall positive refractive power. A zoom factor changes by moving the second lens group. Focal adjustments are made by moving the first lens group accompanied by the change of the zoom factor made by the movement of the second lens group. The first lens group includes a first lens having a negative refractive power and a second lens having a positive refractive power. The second lens group includes a third lens having a positive refractive power, a fourth lens with a positive refractive power and a fifth lens with a negative refractive power bonded together, and a sixth lens with a positive refractive power. The bonded lenses form a meniscus shape with a convex surface facing the object side. The resulting lens is short in length, compact, thin, and suitable for digital still cameras.

Zoom lens

A photographing lens includes an aperture stop having a predetermined aperture, a first lens having a positive refractive power and a convex surface facing the object side, a second lens having a positive refractive power and aspherical surfaces on both sides, the object-side aspherical surface being concave, and a third lens having a negative refractive power and aspherical surfaces on both sides, the object side surface being convex. The aperture stop and the first, second, and third lenses are arranged in order from the object side toward the image-plane side. With such a three-unit, three element lens configuration, a proper back focus is ensured, aberrations are properly corrected, and the total lens length and thickness of the photographing lens are reduced. The photographing lens can be suitably applied to high-resolution image pickup devices with a million pixels or more.

Photographing lens

The present invention provides a small, thin, light and low cost zoom lens suitable for cellular telephones, portable information terminals, etc. In particular, it can provide a small and thin, high performance zoom lens having a zoom ratio of approximately 2, a depth of less than 9 mm in shooting and storage, a total lens length of less than 29 mm, an angle of view of approximately 61&#xb0;, and a F number of 2.8 or higher providing a sufficient light, with various aberrations all suitably corrected.

To obtain a small and thin zoom lens unit, the present invention includes a first lens group having a negative refractive power as a whole, a second lens group having a positive refractive power as a whole, and a third lens group having a positive refractive power as a whole, arranged from an object side to an image side. The zoom lens zooms from a short-focal end to a long-focal end and corrects image surface changes required in accordance with the zooming by means of moving the second lens group and the third lens group, wherein the first lens group includes a first lens having a negative refractive power and a prism having a negative refractive power and changing an incident light path, arranged from the object side to the image side, the second lens group including a single second lens, said third lens group including a single third lens.

The present invention provides a small, thin, light and low cost zoom lens suitable for cellular telephones, portable information terminals, etc. In particular, it can provide a small and thin, high performance zoom lens having a zoom ratio of approximately 2, a depth of less than 9 mm during shooting and in storage, a total lens length of less than 30 mm, an angle of view of approximately 61&#xb0;, and a F number of approximately 2.8 providing a sufficient light, with various aberrations all suitably corrected.

A zoom lens with a slim and compact design has arranged in sequence from the object side to the image plane side a first lens group having a negative refractive power, a second lens group having a positive refractive power, and a third lens group having a positive refractive power. The first lens group is formed from a first lens having a negative refractive power and a second lens having a positive refractive power. The second lens group is formed from a third lens having a positive refractive power and a fourth lens and a fifth lens. The fourth and fifth lens are joined together and have a negative refractive power. The third lens group is formed from a sixth lens having a positive refractive power. The zoom lens has a short length when retracted and extended, and a design that is compact and thin.
