An example system comprises a water-soluble unit dose article comprising a water-soluble fibrous non-woven sheet and a granular laundry detergent. The water-soluble fibrous non-woven sheet is shaped to form a partially sealed internal compartment and has an air permeability comprised between 5 m/m/min and 200 m/m/min. The granular laundry detergent is comprised within said internal compartment and comprises a plurality of particles, wherein the plurality of particles comprises zeolite particles. The system comprises sealing jaws, wherein at least one of the sealing jaws is a heated sealing jaw, wherein a bottom seal of the internal compartment is sandwiched between the jaws. The jaws comprise a non-stick coating in contact with the bottom seal and a first dust extraction conduct to direct a gas flow away from an area surrounding a top section of the sealing jaws or away from a bottom section of the internal compartment.

An example system comprises a water-soluble unit dose article comprising a fibrous non-woven sheet shaped to form a sealed internal compartment and a granular laundry detergent comprised within the internal compartment. A process for making a particulate laundry detergent composition, the process includes the steps: (a) contacting water, starch, acid and perfume to form a concentrated aqueous acidic mixture, the concentrated acidic mixture includes: (i) from about 20 wt % to about 60 wt % starch; (ii) from about 10 wt % to about 50 wt % acid; (ii) from about 2 wt % to about 20 wt % perfume; (iv) from 10 wt % to less than about 45 wt % water; the concentrated acidic mixture has a pH of less than about 4.5; (b) subjecting the concentrated acidic mixture to a perfume emulsification step to emulsify the perfume to form an emulsified perfume mixture in fluid form; and (c) spraying the emulsified perfume mixture in fluid form onto base detergent particles so that the emulsified perfume mixture at least partially coats the base detergent particles to form the particulate laundry detergent composition, the base detergent particles include from about 4 wt % to about 60 wt % detersive surfactant.

Process for making a particulate laundry detergent composition

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a solid free-flowing particulate laundry detergent composition, wherein the process includes the steps of: (a) forming a mixture by contacting: (i) molten fatty acid; (ii) liquid alkaline ingredient, and (iii) non-ionic surfactant, to obtain a mixture, wherein the mixture includes: (i) partially neutralized fatty acid component; (ii) non-ionic surfactant; and (iii) water, wherein the molar ratio of fatty acid to liquid alkaline ingredient contacted together in step (a) is above 1:1; (b) contacting the mixture obtained in step (a) to a detergent powder to form a solid free-flowing particulate laundry detergent composition, wherein in step (b) the mixture is contacted to the detergent powder by spraying the mixture at a temperature of greater than 50° C. onto the detergent powder, wherein the detergent powder includes a detergent ingredient.
