A method includes estimating an amount of data that can be collected and generated for a route generated for a destination entered into the electric vehicle, categorizing, by a data offloading device in an electric vehicle, the estimated data into real-time, near real-time, and non-real-time data categories, determining one or more offloading stop and time based on the categorized estimated data and service provider access device information for the route; collecting real data generated by and for the electric vehicle as the electric vehicle traverses the route; categorizing the real data into the real-time, the near real-time, and the non-real-time data categories; and updating the one or more offloading stop and time based on the categorized real data and updated service provider access device information for the route.

Methods and systems for train detection apparatus angle alignment is described. A train detection system includes a train detection apparatus configured for installation at an installation site at a defined angle with respect to railroad tracks and a processor configured to execute a method for aligning the train detection apparatus to the defined angle. The processor configured to determine a railroad tracks angle with respect to a reference angle based on an image captured of the installation site, obtain, from a sensor, a train detection apparatus angle with respect to the reference angle, determine an alignment angle based on the railroad tracks angle and the train detection apparatus angle, and send the alignment angle to substantially align the train detection apparatus to the railroad tracks in accordance with the defined angle.

According to one configuration, a communication management resource such as a SIM provisioning platform receives input from a mobile communication device to activate use of the mobile communication device in a private wireless network. The communication management resource authenticates use of the mobile communication device in the private wireless network. Subsequent to authentication, the communication management resource populates an access file such as private SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) information for use by the mobile communication device to access the private wireless network. The access file is populated with information such as a unique cell identifier value, encryption information, identification of supported services, etc. The communication management resource communicates the newly generated access file (such as SIM information) to the mobile communication device, enabling the mobile communication device use of the private wireless network.

In one variant, the associated devices are instructed by the CBSD/xNB to invoke a 'wait and re-establish' protocol that obviates a full frequency band rescan in favor of a designated target frequency provided to the CBSD/xNB by the cognizant SAS or DP.

Methods and systems for real-time detection and reporting of trains is described. A system includes two train detection units (TDUs) for each railroad track intersecting a municipality boundary. Each TDU including a proximity sensor to sense a presence of an object on the railroad track, a camera to capture an image of a detected object when the object is within a detection zone, a radar to measure speed when the detected object is classified as a train, and a processor to classify the detected object, generate a timestamp corresponding to when the train entered and exited the detection zone, and determine a train length from the speed and time delta between entrance timestamp and exit timestamp. A train detection controller to receive at least the train length and a TDU identification from one of the two TDUs, and determine estimated time of arrivals for the train at different municipality locations.

System and method for real-time detection of trains

A controlled intersection employs video analytics to identify incoming vehicles coupled with autonomous driving capabilities in the vehicle to selectively provide intervention for collision avoidance. A camera image of an approaching vehicle is used to identify a range and speed, and to compute whether intervention is appropriate based on a detected distance and speed from the intersection. A vehicle approaching a stop signal (e.g. 'red light') at an unsafe rate of speed triggers an invocation of on-board autonomous systems in the vehicle that provide appropriate warnings and ultimately, forced braking if warnings go unheeded. A registration system maintains a local grouping of vehicles in proximity to an intersection for minimizing latency in vehicle identification for commencing intervention. In this manner, on-board vehicle collision avoidance systems collaborate with complementary traffic control logic at a controlled intersection for preventing inadvertent or intentional disregard of a red signal.

Methods and apparatus for providing quasi-licensed intra-cell spectrum reassignment. In one embodiment, the quasi-licensed spectrum utilizes 3.5 GHz CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) spectrum, and a 'seamless' reassignment of wireless spectrum without disruption or loss of continuity to existing data sessions of the CBSD is provided via a pool of temporary RF carriers which act as substitutes for the currently allocated (granted) carriers. The served user devices (e.g., UEs) are instructed by the CBSD to migrate to a new “final” carrier via the substitutes, either directly or via one or more intermediary hops. In one variant, existing 3GPP signaling mechanisms between the UE and CBSD/eNodeB obviates any changes to extant UEs. Communications between the CBSD and its cognizant SAS/DP include new information objects which direct the CBSD to implement the handover functionality. In a further variant, inter-CBSD sector and frequency handovers are provided for using CBRS-plane and 3GPP signaling.

Methods and apparatus for controlling device use of available networks, e.g., cellular and WiFi, are described. End devices report key performance indicator and resource utilization information, e.g., on a per application basis, to a configuration server. The configuration server determines, based on the received information, e.g., using machine learning and/or artificial intelligence, sets of configuration profiles, each configuration profile including one or more set of applications for which an end device should use a particular network. An exemplary configuration profile may identify a first set of applications for which a first network is to be used, e.g., a cellular network such as a P-LTE network, and a second set of applications for which a second network, e.g. a WiFi network, is to be used. The configuration server selects a configuration profile that is best suited for a particular end device and communicates that selected profile to the end device.

A video processing system receives primary video capturing movement of a first object, the first object defined in the primary video by multiple contours of the first object. The video processing system receives selection information indicating a contour of interest associated with the first object; the contour of interest may be one of the multiple contours of the first object. Based on the selection information, the video processing system monitors the contour of interest. The video processing system analyzes variations in the monitored contour of interest over multiple frames of the primary video to produce magnified motion associated with the monitored contour of interest of the first object.

Real-time gunshot detection and reporting. A computing device detects, in an audio signal received by an audio receiver that includes a plurality of audio receiving elements, at least one gunshot. The computing device determines, based on the plurality of audio receiving elements, an audio location of the at least one gunshot. The computing device, based on the at least two corresponding images, identifies a gunshot location and transmits a gunshot location identifier that identifies the gunshot location to a destination.
