A driver controls a switch inserted in a current path between a secondary battery and an inverter that drives a motor. A first abnormality detector instructs the driver to turn off the switch when an abnormality of the secondary battery is detected. A second abnormality detector is disposed in parallel with the first abnormality detector, and instructs the driver to turn off the switch when the abnormality of the secondary battery is detected. The first abnormality detector suspends an instruction to turn off the switch to the driver, even when the abnormality of the secondary battery is detected, in cases where an ECU instructs discharge-stop prohibition of the secondary battery. The second abnormality detector instructs the driver to turn off the switch after a lapse of a certain time from when the abnormality of the secondary battery is detected, regardless of an instruction from the ECU.

Battery management device and power supply system

A motor driving circuit has a supply line connected to a DC power source, an inverter whose input side is connected to the supply line and whose output side is connected to a motor, a power switch inserted in the supply line for switching the supply line between conducting and cut-off states, a voltage detector for detecting a voltage between the direct-current power source and the power switch, and an insulation resistance detector for first detecting, based on a result of detection by the voltage detector with the power switch in the cut-off state, an insulation resistance on the preceding-stage side of the power switch and subsequently detecting, based on a result of detection by the voltage detector with the power switch in the conducting state, an insulation resistance on the succeeding-stage side of the power switch.

Motor driving circuit, motor device, and electric vehicle

A motor drive circuit comprises: a DC power supply; power supply lines; an inverter which has upper arm switch elements and lower arm switch elements; and a detection unit for detecting, based on a power state on the previous stage side of the inverter, the insulation resistances of the motor drive circuit and the motor. The detection unit performs a first detection operation for detecting the insulation resistances by using the output of the DC power supply while the upper arm switch elements and the lower arm switch elements are all turned off and a second detection operation for detecting the insulation resistances by using the output of the DC power supply while the elements of one of the upper arm switch elements and the lower arm switch elements are all turned off and at least one of the elements of the other one is turned on.
