A supplied power level is recognized based on a power level of the storage battery of the portable device at a time point of starting the power supply, and a power level of the storage battery at a time point of terminating the power supply. Since the power level in the storage battery is managed in this manner using the power generation scheme identifier, it becomes possible to determine whether or not the power generation scheme of the power in the storage battery is a clean scheme.

A modulation device, a demodulation device, and a transmission system and acoustic signal transmission method using them which can carry out a synchronization process for data signals without using a carrier frequency for a synchronization signal. The modulation device transmits an acoustic signal superposed with a PN sequence set according to a carrier frequency and a data signal. A demodulation device receives the acoustic signal, determines the PN sequence having the highest maximum correlation value with the acoustic signal in a plurality of PN sequences, detects a symbol synchronization point according to the correlation value between the thus determined PN sequence and the acoustic signal, and performs a synchronization process. Cryptographically Protected Prefixes ('CPPs') are used to create IP addresses, preventing any correlation between a CPP IP address and a host's geographic location. An IP address is subdivided into address prefixes of multiple segments. Each segment is encrypted with a cryptographic key known only to a subset of routers in the access network domain (or Privacy Domain). Therefore, each router obtains the information it needs to forward a packet of information, but not any additional information.
