A yarn feeding funnel for a textile spinning machine having an upper shaft portion and a body portion. An axial yarn passage extends through the shaft portion and an outlet passage extends at an inclination downwardly and outwardly from the axial passage to an opening on the surface of the body portion. The body portion above the opening extends to a greater axial extent than the opening and may be an inverted frusto-conical shape or a torus shaped flange or a cylindrically shaped flange. Alternatively the opening may be in an annular recess in the body portion.

Funnel for a funnel spinning apparatus on a textile machine

A yarn feeding funnel for a textile spinning machine having an upper shaft portion and a body portion. An axial yarn passage extends through the shaft portion and an outlet passage extends from the axial passage to an opening on the surface of the body portion. The body portion has an outer surface of substantially constant inclination with respect to the axis of the funnel and of sufficient extent to substantially prevent the yarn from moving radially outwardly away from the funnel during its travel thereover.

A spindle for a ring spinning machine has an electric motor for rotating the spindle. The electric motor has a stator having a generally square configured stack of magnetically active plates. The corner regions of the stack of the stator have brackets mounted thereon which hold the plates together, and these brackets are fixedly mounted relative to the bearing housing of the spindle bank.

Spindles for a spinning machine with individual drives

A belt type spindle drive apparatus for textile machines of the type having a plurality of simultaneously driven aligned spindles arranged in at least one row. An endless belt extends in driving engagement along the spindles and is driven by a plurality of belt driving devices. In one embodiment, the belt driving devices have drive rollers offset from the spindle rows and coaxial overlapping input and output rollers that guide the belt to and from the drive roller between adjacent spindles. The paths of the belt entering and leaving the drive devices are offset. When an uneven number of devices is used, a pair of canted auxiliary rollers are used to make the number of belt path offsets even. To accommodate the offset of the guide rollers, one or the other guide rollers can be canted toward the drive roller or the drive roller can be canted. Alternatively, adjacent drive devices can have the same offset relationship and the belt path can be inclined from one drive device to the other. In another preferred embodiment, the input and output guide rollers are coplanar, but a spindle intermediate the rollers is not contacted by the guided belt. Rather, an additional belt is provided around an additional drive roller mounted on and driven by the input guide roller and a driven roller mounted on the output guide roller, with the additional belt thereby engaging and driving the intermediate spindle.

A process for operation of an approximately horizontal suction duct used for removal of broken fragments of thread or roving from a spinning machine and a suction apparatus for performing that process. In the process of my invention the suction capacity of the suction duct is made adjustable for joint adjustment of the suction at all of the suction intakes connected to it. Thus to reduce energy consumption this suction capacity can be set to a considerably lower value during normal operation than during doffing or batch changing where it is desirable to use the maximum rated suction capacity. The adjusting means for changing the suction capacity of the suction duct comprises advantageously a throttling means such as an automatically controllable plate mounted downstream from the suction intakes of the suction duct or a selector switch for providing different voltages to the winding terminals of an electric motor of an air blower mechanism to directly change the suction capacity.

Thread or roving fragment removal for a spinning machine

The process for operation of a spinning or twisting machine calls for a plurality of working units which are concentrated in groups with at least one motor and tangential belt. The spinning or twisting machine has a different total power need based on different total numbers of working units and/or use of working units with different individual power needs. Independently of the total power need of the spinning or twisting machine, all the motors have the same dimensions. The number of motors are selected so that the sum of the nominal power output of the motors at least approximately corresponds to the total power need of the spinning or twisting machine. Each of the motors are associated with a number of the working units such that the sum of the individual power need of the working units corresponds at least approximately to the nominal power of the motor.

The cooling apparatus for removal of heat from at least one compartment, enclosed space or the like containing electronic or electrical components comprises a metallic ribbed body mounted on the outside of or constructed as a part of a peripheral wall of the compartment and a blower mounted outside of the compartment acting to blow cooling air into the cooling air channels of the ribbed body facing it. The longitudinal direction of the cooling air channels of the ribbed body is so inclined to the direction of flow of the cooling air prior to deflection by the ribbed body that fuzz does not collect on the metallic ribbed body to such an extent that the heat transfer would be impaired. Advantageously, the ribbed body is inclined at an angle of from approximately 35.degree. to 55.degree., preferably from 40.degree. to 50.degree., with respect to the direction of flow of the cooling air before it is deflected.

For compensation of changes in rotational speeds, for example, occurring because of varying loads on the motors, the drive mechanisms for at least two kinds of working units have a common synchronizing mechanism and are connected operably by a torque transfer device. The torque transfer device comprises, for example, a drive belt and two drive pulleys, each of which is attached to a different drive mechanism. The common synchronizing mechanism can comprise either a common rotational speed control or an adjustable current supply for the motors of the drive mechanisms.

Spinning or twisting machine

A machine for spinning or twisting yarn comprises a plurality of similar operating units, groups of which are each drivable by a tangential drive belt and a drive having a motor. Each of the tangential drive belts is connected with a drive belt performance observation mechanism, which shuts off the spinning or twisting machine, when the machine senses a deviation from the normal operation of the drive belt. The drive belt performance observation mechanism may also transmit the signal it produces either to a display device or to a sound producing device, so that the machine operator can take further action.

A spinning or twisting machine comprises at least one operating unit, which is driven by a drive motor mounted near an operating unit, at least one suction or air duct, a heat collecting jacket for a drive motor at least partially enclosing the drive motor, and at least one connecting air duct connecting the heat collecting jacket with at least one suction or air duct so that heat generated at the drive motor can be exhausted through the duct. The ventilators normally associated with the drive motors can be eliminated or reduced in output and energy consumption.
