A support component for a motor vehicle, in particular for a motor vehicle door is provided. The support component defines a support plane and defines two opposed side faces for the arrangement of functional components of a motor vehicle window lifter, wherein the support component includes at least one reinforcing structure for reinforcing the support component, wherein the support component forms at least two surface segments which on both side faces are arranged in the direction of extension along the support plane. The reinforcing structure is formed such that on the one side face it extends in a manner protruding with respect to both surface segments transversely to the support plane and on the other side face extends in a manner set back with respect to a surface segment of the two surface segments and protruding with respect to the other surface segment of the two surface segments.

A window lifter includes a rope or a Bowden cable and is used in motor vehicles. The window lifter also includes guide rails that are integrated into the base surface of a carrier plate of a motor vehicle door. The window lifter also includes carriers that can be displaced along the guide rails and receive a window pane as well as reversing devices that are arranged at the ends of the guide rails. The rope engages with the carriers and a drive device and is guided via the reversing devices. The guide rails protrude from the base surface of the carrier plate, have a slot that extends in the longitudinal direction and are covered on the open base side of the carrier plate in a dampproof manner. The carriers can be at least partially situated on the external and internal side of the guide rails and pass through the respective slot to engage with the rails.

The invention concerns a two-strand cable window regulator for motor vehicles having two guide rails which is specifically designed to control spherically curved windows. The invention ensures exact conformity with a predefined raising/lowering path with extremely different radii of curvature of the window at the locations of the two guide rails. The present invention ensures exact conformity by modifying the travel distance of the window near at least one guide rail such that the travel distance of the window is either larger or smaller than the distance traveled by the respective carrier connected to the guide rail.
